Poorly bunny?

My rabbit Olly is just over one year old, on Friday I had him at the emergency vet at 9pm with him my eating for about 48 hours and been told about the possibility of Bloat. Olly has had his teeth checked and his tummy checked, had 3 injections, the following day he had two more as he still wasn’t eating. His poop is smaller and dryer which I had explained to the vet, and I’m looking to taking him back tomorrow. Today is the first day I’ve managed to get him eating vegetables in small bits, he has had dandelion hay, normal hay and dried forage (he usually has dried forage), he still won’t eat his nuggets and we’ve tried buying him a different type, he’s stomach has been making grumbling noises since this afternoon every so often, but he’s as lively as ever and has even binky jumped in the living room this after noon.
We’ve been having to give him water in a bowl as he will not drink out of his bottle and I thought his stomach felt a little harder than usual but my mum doesn’t think so, he is a mini lop but is around the size of a normal lop, my main concern is the tummy gurgling and the not eating his nuggets? If anyone could help it would help put my mind at rest, along with my anxiety but I’m really worrying about him

If he is eating and pooping when he wasn’t before, that’s an improvement. Try to focus on the improvement and try not to expect 100% right away. I would encourage water consumption. He’s probably dehydrated which isn’t helping the situation. My bun always drinks more if I offer it in a syringe.
The grumbling sounds like gas. Give him gentle tummy massages and give him simethecone (SP?) Which is the active ingredient in baby gas x.
I don’t think it’s bloat since that is very painful to the bun and from what I read very fast acting. Although I have no personal experience with bloat

If he is not drinking and his poops are dry, I strongly recommend you bring your bun to the vet for Sub Q fluids. He needs hydration to help move all that dried matter along. Sometimes fluids can really help perk up a bunny in this situation too.

Tummy noises are not necessarily a bad thing. It means his digestive tract is doing something, which is what you want. It doesn’t sound like he has true bloat, just some gas that is making its way out the stomach. Bloat is acute and your rabbit would be very, very poorly. That he is producing some poo, drinking and sampling foods are positive signs that he is on his way to recovery.

In my experience when my rabbits have stopped eating for whatever reason, they have always snubbed their pellets (nuggets). That is about the last thing they return to eating even though it’s something they are usually crazy about.
I have found they’ll eat things like rose petals and leaves, willow, thistle and other forage from the garden. Herbs are often accepted by them also. It’s like they know what their body needs during this time.

When they finally want a fruit treat or their pellets, that’s when I know they are completely back to themselves.
