First of all, PLEASE do not flag this ad!! This bunny NEEDS to find a new home and flagging will do nothing to help her.

        eugene.craigslist.org/pet/1178449174.html

It is heartbreaking to see what filth that poor girl is living in. Looks like her cage hasn’t been cleaned in forever. No hay in sight and barely any pellets. Why do people think that’s okay? And to photograph her in that mess? Talk about no humility. I’m leaving to go back to Eugene on Sunday with my mom. We’ll get there on the 28th and I am D-Y-I-N-G to send these people an email saying I’ll take her..but I can’t(yet).

I showed my mom and she was horrified. She was like “I barely know anything about rabbits and even I know that’s not what their living conditions should look like..that is horrible”.
Then she went on to give Dallas and Duncan a lecture on how wonderful their house was and how lucky they should feel, lol.

I’ll send them an email the day we get in to Eugene and see if she’s still available. If she is…………well, we’ll see what happens!

OMG Dallas! *cries* If you can’t keep her, would you mind grabbing her and traveling up to Fairbanks? I’d take her in half a heartbeat! 0_0

What a precious thing! Oh those conditions are horrible!

          Man, my bunnies live in penthouse conditions compared to this! ;_;

Fairbanks, Alaska?! If you were closer, I definitely would..but that is reeeaallly far from Eugene(48 hours straight!). If anyone lives in the California, Arizona, New Mexico or El Paso, Texas area, I would be MORE THAN HAPPY(!!!!) to pick her up and drop her off at your house, since we are driving there and back!!!

Could you get her and then surrender her to a local rescue? I wonder if you showed up with her if my sister could say no… She’s been wanting a rabbit (and yes, she would be a very responsible owner). A lop in particular. I’ll ask her and my mom, but no promises. Plus we are in Sacramento, and I don’t know if that would be on your way.

Mrmac; If you can convince the hubby, we could probably work something out. San Diego is a bit out of our way, but maybe meet up somewhere in Palm Springs or something.
KytKattin, we go STRAIGHT through Sacramento!! Definitely talk to them about it.

I’ll talk to my mom about this tomorrow, but she would love to get her out of that situation just as much as I would, so probably she’d be cool with everything..but again, I’ll talk to her tomorrow.

Any other bun-takers in case she’s still available and my mom agrees to this..?

edit: KytKattin, the local non-kill rescue charges a surrendering fee. I recall it’s something like $30 or $40.

One positive is she appears not to be on wire flooring…I wonder if that is her current housing. The ad suggest she was an indor bun until recently. She seems young.
Initially I thought perhaps you could foster her and find her a permanent home but I guess that wouldn’t suit as you live so far from town centres don’t you?

I have to laugh – have you been checking local ads again right before a trip to town?! Sounds awfully familiar…lol.

                    Keep us posted.

LOL. I am pleading the fifth on this one!

Unfortunately my sister will only adopt an already spayed or neutered rabbit. As cute as she thinks this little bunny is, she would rather adopt from a rescue a rabbit that is already fixed and relatively problem free and vet checked. She had a 28 year old horse that cost her a lot of money and time so she doesn’t want to intentionally bring a potentially problematic rabbit into her life.

*pouts* Awww….But…it is REALLY nice here right now. Lovely vacation spot… ^_^

I just can’t get over how many bunnies I see every day now that remind me of Mimzy. When I first got him I thought for sure he was so unique.
