  Hi, this is a silly question but I just adopted a rabbit named Benny and he came in a travel size cage with some plastic grid that I will show down below. I wanted to know what they were exactly called and where to get them as I want to get them for my other rabbit. Or if itseven a good idea to still be using it. Theres this carnival I go to every year where they show off rabbits (its some club) and all the cages had the same exact plastic grid thing on top of the wired bottom. Thought it was a good idea to buy more. Sorry for his cage being messy as I just got him and the last owner who gave him up to me used pee pee pads for his cage that I didn’t get to change yet (in the drop pan).

  The grids are better then wire floor -but not as good as a solid floor
  If you can provide a solid floor area that would be preferred over a wire floor as it prevents sore hocks
  
  I have plastic base cages for my two boys and then fleece blankets over that plastic floor for cushioning and comfort
  Which works great if not a chewer on the fabric
  Or a plastic floor alone some use ( for the chewers )

  If you don’t want to change cages then getting some wood cut to fit the bottom of cage as a floor and then lino or vinyl offcuts on the top are also good and easy to clean ( you would need fleece to prevent slipping or textured vinyl / lino
  
  How big is the cage? The photo could be deceiving but it looks very small

  Knitting plastic mesh is a more feet friendly alternative if you still want the holes. I use 7-count mesh to cover Wick’s litter boxes. For a permanent cage, I think having a more solid bottom with a textured mat and maybe a blanket option would be better.
