I got an adorable sockbunny named Rainbow recently from a friend
, and it came with a website blog, and friends that wanted to know how he made out here. Lots of fun.Anyway, I saw this adorable little guy I just had to have, so today Bertie Bassethound got here from the UK.

This reminds me, I have a ‘group shot’ that wants taking here…we’ve got our own warren up here of those bunnies. Perhaps in the yard tomorrow after our first frost, which is due this evening. Brrr! -
MM, it isn’t made by Anna. It’s her friend over at Hot Dogs and Me who makes these cute goggies. I emailed pix to Anna though, just to update her. I got the idea from her when she posted pix of her dog sock that she bought and added to her warren. (Is this my second childhood setting in?????)
I just get such a kick out of knowing whimsical people globally that can have fun from socks when everything seems so depressing lately. Of course, they’re not smelly socks…jersey, I think they are friends but not bonding, since one is a dog and one is a bunny. On the other hand, they are both socks (though mismatched) so technically they are the same species…well, they are sitting side by side at the moment with grins on their faces. (Sammy, however, is trapped in her cage having eaten her breakfast early. She’s gnawing on the bars now.)
MM, yes, I think a group pix is in order. I would like to see that here.

Here is the ‘family picture’. I know, I’m a disgrace. Two of these do belong to my daughter, however.
Soon they’ll be joined by two very adorable, lovable sock goggies as well. ^_^ These two remind me of my moppy mutts.

I know, LOTSA bunnies. I think if I tried to rescue this many real ones, I’d have to be put away. Of course, for how I love to shop, I may need to be put away anyway…lolz.
I have collected unique and cute toys and plush for most of my life and most of them are still in good enough shape to go onto Ebay, which I’ve had to seriously consider.
I was also planning on passing a few of Anna’s bunnies onto my husband’s many nieces. They are just the cutest “Gee why didn’t I think of that?” things! ^_^ I just wonder in this current young society if they would appreciate the handmade ‘whimsy’ of these kinds of items. You know, most kids these days want the high end gifts for birthdays and holidays…IPods and video games and such…. I can sadly imagine them unwrapping a sock bunny and saying, “Um, gee, thanks Auntie, but…what IS it?”EDIT: I just got your pix to come up, Cake…AWWWW! ^_^ Your bunny is adorable I just love the color of his/her fur! (has soft spot for grey bunnies)
I just love the spotty sock bunnies, don’t you? My favorite is the little brown one with orange and yellow spots in the middle of the picture, you can hardly see him…he was a ‘stowaway’ in my last box of bunnies from Anna.

MM, Don’t be silly. If I’d really wanted him, you never would have had a chance to lay eyes on him. This way I won’t have bought him but can visit him in Alaska when you post pix. I’ve also saved several sock bunnies to favorites, and Quite Smart just arrived at my nephew’s new home in CA two days ago. He was surprised and sent a nice thank you note.

Au Contraire. At the museum where I work we have an interactive children’s gallery. Gizmos, videos, state-of-the-art booths? Nope. We have black line drawings on xerox paper, boxes of crayons and markers. Stuffed animals. Books. Plastic kitchen set with plastic pots, pans, bananas, etc. A basket of barbie dolls for this exhibit & paper butterflies made by school kids on the walls. You should see how much these kids love to color with the adults. They show us their work and take some home. Not a thing plugged in anywhere.

Baker’s dozen…I hadn’t thought of that, lolz. Yes the stowaway is similar to the “Maurice’ bunny she has up now. Not quite one of a kind, with a pair of socks. (And it’s the Fuzzy bunny I was close to ordering and the Miley one too…won’t do it now.) Part of their appeal is that they have such interestingly colored socks in the U.K. But I was thinking, around 4th of July, of sending her some of the more patriotic ‘novelty’ socks we get here from time to time and asking if she’d make a ‘custom American’ set. ^_^
I think I gravitate to the spotty ones because they do look so much like her original Widget. He makes a great spokesbun for the site. -
Oh don’t get me started. lolz. I do NOT need to spend more money right now on sockbunnies. ^_^

The stowaway is apparently one of the autumn bunnies (looked up Maurice’s description) which is perfect. I love autumn. Turning leaves and the smell of pie cooking in the oven. Mmmm…pie!
Her blog says there’s more mum and baby sets coming. I wonder how long before they’re available? -

Yes, they’re made of one sock, so when she buys pairs there will be two that look similar. The stuffing is a really soft kind that they sell in the UK. I think I wasn’t able to find it here when I thought I’d make something stuffed with it. Stuffing, not beads or rice, so very, very soft and squishy.
I have Miley, my newest sock bunny, at my office on my grandmother’s loveseat. My boss’ granddaughters LOVE him, but I really couldn’t afford to buy a couple for the girls due to the price of the $ vs. lb. and the added shipping. Would have liked to, though.
Widgetsockbunny is really high up there in Farmville, too, so I stay in touch via Facebook.

How cute, you have a leopard pattern HK too! So do I…that’s almost scary! (actually I have two types) It’s a little different than yours though…daughter got it for me for Valentine’s day and it’s all pink instead of brown. .

A Twigloo is a willow basket with a sagging lip on one side. Fiver loves these and I found they hold sockbunnies rather well if they don’t mind being all bunched up together.
Buri, I love how nice and neat your room is…I would be ashamed to show mine, it’s as cluttered as it can possibly get. Maybe when I get things straightened out this summer, I’ll show it off, but not before.
Is that a Domo-Kun? (the little brown, block headed plush) I see those everywhere that I shop for UFO catcher stuff.
You’d love this site I go to called strapya-world, it’s nothing but cell phone charms and keychains full of Japanese things. They even have food/sweets lines. I have a little onigiri attached to my DSi. ^_^

My phone can’t hold cell phone straps (bummer) so my friend gave me one of those buttons you can attach to your phone and you can string straps though I got Rilakkuma headphones for my Ipod Oh, my room is always clutter

Oh gosh, I always hated to have people going through my house when it was being sold. What an invasion of privacy! One of the realtors who was getting paid to ‘show’ my childhood home just sat at the kitchen table and drank our coffee and ate our food. When I asked her why she didn’t follow the people around the house to actually SHOW it to them, she got all huffy and told me she wasn’t about to scare away a sale by hovering.
We lost so many personal items during these ‘showings’…it was maddening. And then the ‘friendly neighbors’ who assisted my elderly (grand)father in emptying the house of possessions actually just outright stole so many things that were very personal to me. I swear, if I ever have to sell my home again, it will be completely empty if I have to put all my stuff in a Conex container and live in that. *nods*
lolz…Sorry…this particular topic turn just fires me up. ^_^;I’ve been very naughty at Strapya. ^_^ I like the Juju and Momo Chan plushies the best.

My dad is very very cautious about people looking at the house. He told me to hide my laptop and my jewelry box. He either puts it in his car or hidden away in the garage. I was at the house when the realtor was taking people through, but I sat in the living room. She was with the people at all times, showing them around the houses. Some realtors are very very rude. I’ve heard horror stories!!
I prefer not to be home when people come by, yet I want to be here, LOL!!

Yes, Rilakkuma is part of San-X, which I think is a spinoff of Sanrio. I like their little black tuxedo cat…Kutsuki-something? Gosh, the names are just going right out of my head tonight.Have you ever seen the Lloromannic creatures? They are the opposites of Cinnamoroll. My daughter first got hooked on Sanrio because of Baby Cinnamon.
I have put so much money into imports from Japan. I could’ve probably paid off my mortgage by now! lol

I think one other person on Etsy (before Anna put her own shop up there) was copying her sock bunnies and making them. But they’ve since disappeared so I think perhaps she enforced her copyright.
I think if you are just trying the design out to enjoy it yourself and are not selling them, it’s okay. But I wouldn’t make them to sell. It was Anna’s idea first.Pam, Cinnamoroll is that lovely white floppy eared character I used to have as one of my avatars/signature pix. He is a Sanrio character. There is (I believe) a Hong Kong company that copies Sanrio designs and calls them San-X (a generic if you will) that also creates these cute little characters called Lloromannic (which is cinnamoroll spelled backwards) and they are the little pink and grey imps I had on my icons during Halloween this last year.
I can’t find my pix of them to show you at the moment, but I’ll suss them out and get them posted eventually.
Buri I know what you mean … I have bags and boxes of stuffies. I really need to cut them down this year because there’s next to no room to move in the house!
I find as I get older I would prefer a more Spartan lifestyle. But I’ll keep a few things that are my favorites. The others will find good homes.EDIT: Ahhh..here we go…

MM, I agree about selling and copyright. Marion is in her 80s, has been making crafts beautifully all her life, and is not selling any. She just got inspired and when I said I couldn’t afford to buy two and pay for shipping from England for my boss’ granddaughters, so gave them something small and local instead, she went home and made two for them and one for me. Anna needn’t worry, and that’s why I didn’t even want to post it at first because i love Anna’s work and her site. So no worries.
Buri, I would just leave the Banana plush as is for a toy. I have one too
and it’s very cute. If you stuff it with hay, it will tempt bunny to eat the cloth to get to the hay, and that’s not so good. Make a hay ball out of a plain paper bag, and then your bun can have a soft toy sometimes and a crinkly hay toy others. Robun. Sheesh.

I am SO far behind in my additions to the blogs it’s not funny. I feel so bad.
I think Anna is angry with me for not updating everyone on the farthest north warren. My daughter and I had been planning on making ‘snow Widgets’ to send pix of and we never did it…now with breakup upon us, well…snow will be going away soon.
