Pink Urine

So this morning I had my rabbit sitting on the bed with me when I noticed there was a large pink coloured stain left from where she was sitting. She is litter trained but I’d taken her downstairs for a little while away from her litter box which is why she ended up urinating on the bed as she never goes to the toilet anywhere else when she is upstairs. 

I’ve done a tiny bit of research to which I found the possible cause which is to do with calcium in the diet however, I’m not 100% sure if this is actually what it is. I’m hoping someone who’s had a bit experience with this could help me shed some light on the situation! 

I will call and make an appointment with her vet asap only if it looks like something more serious as she gets herself so stressed out at the vets and I don’t want to have to put her through that unless it’s absolutely necessary.

I took a picture before cleaning up to be certain so, Has anyone ever seen this before?

How old is she? What kinds of veggies are you feeding her? Plant pigments can cause urine to change colors. Pee can range in color from yellow all the way up to a dark rusty orange. It just depends on what they had been eating recently.

What has she been eating? Is she spayed? What colour is the Lee when it dries?
As long as she is eating/drinking/acting normal, she is probably fine. Bunny pee comes in a rainbow of colours.

Thanks for the replies, I knew it could come in all different tones and shades but what I didn’t realise is that it could actually come in different COLOURS.

I think I may have found the cause, I found an old very pink straw hat under the bed today (where she likes to disappear away to from time to time) that was full of big holes and chewed to pieces that she’s obviously been working on for a little while and I think it could have been from the dye of the hat as I’ve read that some chew toys’ dyes can come off too.

I’ve disposed of the hat and will keep an eye on her as god only knows what that dye is made up of and will let you know how she is Thanks again!

I am sure that was it. Just be careful with having stuff like that on the the floor, bunnies will eat anything, (a member here, AndHenry’s bunny chewed through a coke can.) and you don’t want them to get ill or injured.
