The other day I picked some catnip and rinsed it and offered it to the bunnies- they were not very interested.  The next night I decided to give some to the cats while Schroeder was upstairs and seeing the cats interested in the catnip peaked his interest in the catnip.  Catnip is in the mint family- so I figured the bunnies would like it.

Once Schroeder starting chewing the leaves the odor of catnip got much stronger- his grinding the leaves to chew must release the fragrance.  One of our cats- Mooney- was interested in the catnip but unsure why Schroeder was eating it.
