Hey guys. So I recently posted about sexing my new rescue, who shall temporarily be called 3rd Bun. After researching how to do it myself since the vet was of no help i’m pretty sure I felt 2 little balls so I think he’s a boy bun….Anyways. So if any of you read my original post about 3rd Bun you will recall me saying that he was fed only guinea pig food for his first 6.5 years of life, no greens, no hay. I believe the ONLY reason he is still alive is because he’s the least shedding bun i’ve ever seen. Literally not one hair comes off when you pet him, it’s baffling really. Anyways, even though he barely sheds I still want him eating hay, but he just won’t eat it! I would try the “only feed him very little pellets and when he’s hungry enough he will eat hay” but hes getting neutered tuesday morning and I don’t want him losing weight before surgery. Anyways, i’ve tried giving him greens which he does like such as organic spring mix with herbs and dill, although he didn’t eat the dill I gave him today. But when I give him greens or critical care his stool comes out in one big blob of dark wet tiny pellets. I also tried mixing critical care with “hay dust” (the stuff at the bottom of the box) and he’ll eat some, but only very little. It’s not as if it isn’t good hay either, I get the crazy tasty hay! The best hay available! Hell, i’d eat that stuff! Anyways, any help would be greatly appreciated!!
