We picked up our “foster” bunny (haha!) today; her name is Parsnip. We got to meet Mr Bill…you’ll have to update us on your adoption; Congrats! If you ever need advice on building condos from NIC cubes, let us know…we’re experts haha!
Here’s a few pics we got of her (before she ran away, thumped and hid underneath the ramp to her cage
)

She has such pretty brown eyes

“Hey, is someone giving me bunny ears??”
(My husband, being silly)
oh my gosh she is soooo cute
OH, that is great!! How adorable! Silly husbands are great too! Makes life fun.
She and Frankie need to be husbun and wife ![]()
parsnip is so sweet! rachel, when i saw the pics i thought that too
Helicopter ears! So cute!
Ah yes… I was logging on to post, asking if you had some pictures using the cubes. I’d love to get some good ideas. Jen is bringing Benjie and Addie on Friday. It’s going to be a LONG week.
At least that will give us time to set up proper enclosures for them. I’ve even decided to sell our saltwater reef tank so I’ll have more room for a large bunny enclosure. Anything for the bun-bun’s.
Yep… I’m a bunaholic. So now, what are the 12 steps?

Well at least you can admit to it; that’s the first step
Depending on how Jen gets them bonded, you’ll probalby have to start off with 2 cages. She’ll be lucky if she gets them bonded in a week, but it depends on the rabbits. There’s a lot of good advice on the Bonding forum and if you have any trouble to ask there. It’s a difficult process sometimes but once they’re bonded it’s cute! Archie and Gracie are always by each other’s side. It took 2 weeks for ours to get bonded and I’m not a very patient person haha!
I didn’t realize how big Benji was! Online pictures never do justice. I was almost tempted to get midnight too, rexes are so soft!
I don’t have a picture of the two cages we did but each was basically 2 wide x 2 tall x 3 length. We had alittle ramp and made a second story. Don’t ask us how we find the room, bunnies are basiclaly taking over our house haha!
We always stock up on zip ties….Ace Hardware probably wonders why we’re always buying them
Sometimes we’ll use a dowl rod for extra support on another level. And for the ramps (depending on the rabbit; ours liked ramps and not so much hoping up all the time) we used pieces of carpeting and zip tied them onto a grid.
We have one of those big rubbermaid litter boxes (for cats); we got at Petsmart. It’s pretty big and should fit both of them in it. But have to get 2 litter boxes when they’re seperated.
This was Archie’s second cage (when we found out how cool NIC cubes were). We punched holes into the cardboard cottage and put a ramp onto it. We had a grass mat on his ramp but once we got Gracie, since she’s heavier and bigger, she kept sliding down the ramp
So carpet was better traction for her.

This is their cage now. We actually had to set up another grid by the bookself because daredevil Archie decided to hop over it and onto the bookshelf that has figurines! ![]()
We had to put a blanket down because Gracie liked to try and eat the linolium over there. The hay racks are actually toliet paper holders that you can buy in pretty much any bath section. We had to put cardboard up because they were getting hay all over the outside of the cage. Oh and those blue grids go around the blanket when it’s shut. It acted as a gate for us because we didn’t want them getting into the office part of the room….or what’s left of the office ![]()

The blue grids we got from target and gray are from Bed bath and beyond but like we said, we don’t think they’re restocking…they have about maybe 6 packs left in Boardman, OH. there’s 14 grids in a back I think.
Wow what a beautiful fish tank! Too bad you had to sell it but you’ll enjoy having those two bundles of fluff ![]()
Parsnip is still getting used to her setup. We just have her in Archie’s FIRST cage which was one of those smaller ones that you buy at a petshop and put grids around it (kind of like Otto’s setup). We zip tied a grid to the ramp going out of the cage and put carpet on it to act as a ramp. She’s still scared of us and will hid either under the ramp or in the ginger ale box hehe! I think Archie knew something was going on and thumped a few times. Nothing really fazes Gracie ![]()
She does look like Frankie! Probably why I couldn’t resist! She’s up for adoption
Well we’ll see, she is so cute ![]()
She’s adorable!
Aw! Frankie and her would make an awesome pair
Do they have complimentary helicopter ears? ie, Parsnips uppy ear is left, is Frankie’s right? Siggy shows his is left too…..mmm.
Mr Bill – you are getting a bonded pair? That’s great! Twice the……fun!
The 12 steps
1. admit the addiction
2. be proud of your addiction, tell everyone and anyone about the subject of your addiction
3. give over 80% of your home to subject of the problem
4. spend 90% time making subject more pampered than they already are
5. be prepared to bunnify everything you see whilst out shopping ” Oh that would make a good bunny toy, hidey box, bed” etc
7. learn to resist buying such items after having bought 1/2 a dozen, they’ve been destroyed or ignored.
6. learn everything there is to know about the subject. Know your addiction.
7. learn not to take bunny disapproval personally
8. try talk to your partner once in a while about non bunny related things
9. try leaving your home without feeling guilt
10. learn the names of every type of edible green thing on planet Earth
11. work on being flexible. That is, getting up from or down to the floor – often.
12. don’t try to fight the addiction, give in. Immerse yourself in it and enjoy for all it’s worth.
Erm…so these 12 steps won’t actually help you get over your addiction. Really, there’s no point! You’ll always find support in your addiction from fellow sufferers here though!
Well, they’re not bonded yet. So we’re going to try and bond them (fingers crossed).
I think we have about have of those 12 steps covered so far. Now to work on the other half. Instead of adding to this thread, I’ve started a new one and we’ll keep it updated throughout the process.
