“Sense of calmness and tranquility”?
I don’t know. I think my two are plotting my demise.
Well that’s interesting…..
So the more bunnies I have, the more patient and calm I should be…I’m going to tell hubby this so he’ll let me have as many as I want, LOL
There is no “calm” when Brittany is around adorable bunnies. Trust me, I know this. ![]()
Oh dear
Bunnies are nice and soft to pet and very naughty too
After I read the article, I realized I am thankful for Chacha. She has helped me in many ways
Monkeybun, yessh, I steal all your fur babies tehehehehehe!!! *eyes moose*
I think this soooo true!! when i was young around 4 i was diagnosed with leukemia, and i had a pet bunny, her name was Scruffles, and when i would have to be hospitalized i would throw big tantrums and would cry every time a nurse came in. My mom one day sneaked in Scruffles in her purse and i was so happy, even though i was in MAJOR pain. The nurse walked in and saw the bunny but saw that i wasnt crying or trying to run away, she didnt say anything. She later reported it to my doctor that it would be good for me to have my bunny as a sort of therapy, my doctor agreed and they let me keep my bunny in the hospital when i was hospitalized. They even set up a litter pan for her and the nurses would carry carrots in their scrubs for when they came into see me, lol!!! I think pets have a sense of knowing when YOU yourself need them and are capable of understanding that something has changed. They later asked me if they could borrow Scruffles there was a litttle boy who was having a bone marrow taken out which is VERY PAINFUL and wouldnt let himself, so they took him Scruffles and he petted scruffles through the whole procedure and actually stood still, the boy was about 9. So i think the article has some sort of truth to it. Scruffles later became the therapy bunny in the childrens ward and many would come into my room to come and see her.
What a sweet story Moz! Thanks for sharing that! I could not imagine having to endure that as such a small child, not to mention how worried your parents must have been.
I am sitting here in tears, Moz. I have a 5 yr old, as well as a 8 and 9 yr old and I had lots of mental images going through my head while reading that :'(
What a beautiful story though and Scruffles sure was special!

Oh my goodness Moz!! So touching ![]()
There are some rabbits that are pet therapy (there are famous ones named William & Shakespeare in the 2011 rabbits magazine. They allow troops to give them hugs, bunnies go to hospice, and hospitals) and I think that is awesome.
Animals do have their way of knowing how we feel. It is really great
I was upset when my first job cut my hours, and Chacha came to me, circled me and honked at me!! She is such a silly little girl. During the first few months that I had her, she wanted NOTHING to do with me. I was upset one night about the loss of my mom, and she hopped to me, and flopped right in front of me![]()
People always overlook rabbits when they’re looking for an animal. Rabbits have so much potential and personality and they are special babies.
You guys!! im all better now i have been in remision since i was 12 and im 24 now!! I think Scruffles helped me get through the hardest part, and she helped alot of the other children that were hospitalized too. A pets only difference is they cant talk, but otherwise i think they have feelings just like us and are able to be compassionte and offer comfort. Animals when treated right dont carry tension or stress so its like positive vibes having a healthy, loving pet. I’ve learned a pet teaches a child evrything about life, it teaches love, friendship, trust, compassion, patience, caring, responsibilty, and also teaches about death and how to cope with it, it teaches most of all respect toward all living things 4 legged or two legged =) So yes I think bunnies as well as any other animal can have a positive effect on anyone and help those who are going through something rough, but bunnies, i think bunnies are naturally insync with nature and thats why may offer some sort of serenity. When someone thinks of a bunny they think of spring, green grass, flowers in bloom, fresh air, sun shinning, so bunnies come with a positive thoughts. bunnies are special. =)
Wow that’s such a beautiful heartwarming story Moz! Glad you’re in remission.
I have a similar story to you Brittany. I only had Sammy for a few weeks or so and he was still warming up to me when I went through a breakup. I was tearing up on the couch and Sammy jumped up to the top of couch right by my face and snuggled into my cheek. Then he actually licked a couple of my tears away! Lol I felt like i was in a Disney movie lol definitely made me stop crying and feel better.
Eddie helped pull me through a bad depression. I was on medical leave for depression and did an impulse buy and got him from Petco about 2 months into my major depression. He has always been so special to me and why his loss will always be fresh I think.
But….I always got the wide eyed “OH MY GOD…She’s leaking water! We better hide! NOW” response from both whenever I started crying. LOL Of course, I was usually sobbing before I’d try to get Eddie to snuggle, so this might be why. All I know is that whenever I started crying, he’d go under the bed and not come out until I was done. LOL LOL LOL
And yes…what sense of calmness and tranquility? lol
I’m happy you’re in remission now, Moz. That was an amazing story.
I agree Smokey has helped me through a lot in the almost 2 years I’ve had her. Even though when she’s naughty, it isn’t too calming, for the most part she’s a great asset to my life. I’m sure everyone else agrees with the article, too.
