I decided to order some pepper spray. Some man followed a neighbor home and walked right into her house and started going thru her medicines. She fussed n told him to GET OUT so he left. Fortunately for her.
So I decided at 48 yrs old to get some pepper spray. My Mom and I had been talking about it.
Ok so I decide to try it out. I go in the yard away from the porches and to this tree. I checked and the wind wasn’t blowing. However the minute I squirted it the wind blew it into my face. Got my right eye.
I ran to the fawcet and washed my eye with water for a bit. My forehead burned. My eye felt better after washing it. rofl. I guess I know how it works now. Works very well. Stopped me. lol
The article said does not blow back with the wind. Yeah right. Sneaky wind.
Oh my! Did your neighbor notify the police about this?
Well, I’m glad that the pepper spray does work…wouldn’t be daring enough though to try it on myself.
rofl I didn’t intend to try it on myself just the tree.
yikes that stuff bites back
Oh yes the neighbor called housing but said it wasn’t their problem. I dont’ think she called the police. Told her I got some pepper spray.
That movie The Xmas Bunny ws supposed to come in today. Still waiting.
Well, I’m not sure if spraying a tree is going to tell if it’s going to work LOL.
Sorry bunny, I laughed
I had to be maced in the Navy so I’ve felt your pain
I’ve been thinking about getting some myself actually.
I need to get some too. Not that I am worried about attackers, but mostly because I am sick of my dog getting attacked out of the blue.
Ouch, that doesn’t sound fun lol bad wind! I would have called the cops if I were your neighbor o.O
ROFL BT you are hilarious!!! I bet that burned for a good while!!!
Wow your neighbor was really lucky that he only was interested in her medicine cabinet.
I carry some in my purse because I have to carry my horn across campus in the dark and I can’t run very fast with it on my back if someone tried to mess with me ![]()
Ah scary! Good idea though. My bf got me pepper spray to put in my purse, it was sort of cute lol.
Best story:
We were camping this may and all brought bear spray because we were camping in a natural area where there aren’t campers and wildlife is plenty.
So my friends boyfriend finds out his bear spray is expired so he tries it out. It’s dyed orange so you can see where it is hanging in the air once sprayed. It sprayed fine so to check it’s potency, he sniffed it.
LMAO hoooow funny
I think I would totally carry pepper spray if it were legal here-so if it is where you are, I think it’s a fine thing to have BT ![]()
^ LOL.
I think in the US pepper spray is legal to carry around, but mace is not.
do you think it’s good on pizza?
Joyfull_music- If your dog is being attacked by other animals, you can buy this special spray online or in petstores that is like animal mace. It doesnt hurt the animal attacker but it works the same way as mace. Mace can seriously hurt an animal.
Longhairmike- OMG!!!!
OMG…BT…your post is cracking me up. Then you sent me to the moon with… “just trying to spray the tree”.
I am glad you are okay though and I hope your neighbor is doing okay. That’s scary- sounded like a drug addict just desperate to find some more drugs. Hopefully with the scary man thing people will be aware and watch out for each other. Stay safe!
Bear spray…asked hubby to get me some because walking Jenna gets more hazardous by the day. I was hoping for a palm sized can, but this thing is about a foot long and HEAVY. I’ll be lucky to pull it out of my pocket before a bear has finished half of me. O_o
That’s rubbish that the building managers won’t help. What’s the point of them? Aren’t they the least bit liable if someone is assaulted on their property?
Be safe BT. Perhaps a pair of welder’s goggles for you would be good too? ![]()
Thanks for the suggestion Mandyy. I do not know why other peoples dogs just go after mine when he is minding his own business. I even had one idiot blame me when it was his boxers ganging up on my dog.
Glad you took initiative BT. Personally I think all women should have some means of defense. I was followed by a guy once in an underground parking lot. Luckily, at the last minute more people showed up and scared him away. I carry a tazor now (not sure that’s legal everywhere). Haven’t worked up the courage to try THAT one on myself, lol.
when I walked my dogs I carried a broomstick. Without the sweeping part on it. My dogs got attacked like 3x. No make that 4. So it came in handy.
I actually broke it over a dogs head that was charging my dogs. If the owners were there trying to get their dogs under control ok I didnt ‘ hit them. One lady said I should have hit it anyway.
We even got attacked by a chihuahua. lol. It was too small to do much harm.
Joyful_music- you’re welcome.
TriBun- That must have been scary! Lucky there were people there! I know for a while Pepper spray was banned here… I think because of the whole “if you were taken advantage of, it is your own fault” act that was happening. :/
Bunnytowne- Yeah… I’d get a mace thing that is made for animals. I would rather not have to get to the point where I physically have to hurt an animal. Usually animal aggression is not the dogs fault, and it being loose isn’t it’s fault either. It’s the owners responsibility to keep their dog locked up… if anyone needs a good whack it’s the irresponsible owners. And, you may get in heaps load of trouble if you take to hitting them with a stick and someone sees you. They won’t care that your pets being attacked they will think it’s a form of animal abuse (which it is) and then you can get into legal trouble.
The thing with my dog is his breed. Boxers are an interesting one. They are usually very friendly, social-able, and fun loving. That is not to say boxers in a pack don’t cause trouble. Anyone who has ever been to a dog park while multiple boxers are there, especially ones that live together, could tell you that they tend to be trouble starters. Another thing with boxers is that they may not always be the one to start the fight, but they WILL finish it. They were bred to take down large game like bulls, and it is just how they are. My dog is no exception. Any of the times he has been attacked he full on retaliated. In one case tackled down a pit bull much larger then him. I mostly need it to prevent something from happening. My dog is very well controlled, and well socialized. Not to mention usually on his leash. I only off leash him in certain areas and conditions. Like a large park in the off season when nobody is there. Not to mention he looks enough like a pit bull to your average idiot, that it could get him labeled, even if he was the victim, and get us in even more trouble. Do not get me wrong, I adore pitties, but my dog is not a pit. And labels terrify me.
