Hi Everyone! Pepper is slowly acclimating. She actually ran around and sniffed out the boys bedroom while I was in there yesterday. I thought that was a good sign.

This morning when we got up she had completely rearranged her cage. The litter box was tossed into the opposite corner and she was sleeping in a different spot than she had been. Should I be concerned about this or do you think she was just playing and things got messed up? I had to move her litter box back to where it was because that is still the corner she is using. I’d like to give her as much ownership of the cage as I can. What do you think she was trying to tell me? Or do you think she was just playing?

probably playing. there are litterboxes shaped like triangle that screw onto itself on opposite bars of the cage might help they usually can’t undo those unless they really lift. hehee

My bunny tends to rearrange his cage when he wants attention. If you walk by him in the morning and don’t say hello, pet, or feed, he will completely trash the place.

Some bunnies have very particular ideas about what should go where, and will move things around until the Bun Shui is correct.  Best to let her arrange things as she wants.

Bunnies can be very particular about their cage arrangements If you have to move the litterbox to wherever she is peeing/pooping, that is definitely a good idea, but other than that I’d recommend letting her doing her arrangements as she pleases. If you run into the problem that she is flipping her litterbox over, I’d recommend one of those cat litterboxes that has a lid, and is kind of dome shaped. I use that for my bunnies that like to tip over and dig in the litterbox.

I gave my girlfriend maryann’s old triangular litter box in hopes that her new bun would use it. He didn’t. However, when she took it out of his cage, he pulled it back in. He still doesn’t use it, but it is HIS, dammit!

Thank you for all the reassurances. She seems to be doing well and acting pretty happy. She’s still shy of us, but coming out and playing a lot more.

I put the litterbox back in the corner and screwed in on which I hadn’t done before. She moves the rest around according to her mood for the moment.

                           Bun Shui! I love it!

Pepper is a Master of Bun Shui.

When she first came to live with me, she spent about 2 weeks unplugging a lamp because the  (covered) cord was in her way.  When I actually SAW her doing it, and then dragging it out from under the couch, I gave in and moved the lamp.

We have a constant battle over the draft-stopper on the back door – I know she doesn’t like it but the kitchen floor gets COLD!

Another Pepper! It’s such a great name. My 9 year old is actually the one who picked it out .
