I was trying to sell stuff on craigslist.org.

I got some emails from stupidest people. For instance, I was trying to sell an item that is worth 100 dollars but selling for 60 dollars. One person emailed me, “or happenies” What the heck was he talking about? It is nothing  to do with the item that I was trying to sell.

Yup, I’m experiencing the same thing. I have a bunch of stuff I recently listed on Kijiji. People don’t read the ads and need to learn to spell and/or re-read before they press send. I especially hate tire kickers…if you’re not seriously interested stop wasting my time.

A lot of people are also stupid.

I have had problems on ebay. A lot of people will bid on things and end up winning the auction and then deciding they don’t want the item. Instead of just saying they don’t want the item, they simply ignore you. So then you have to file a claim and then wait all this time just to re-list the item or to offer it to someone else. I don’t dare mess with Craigslist because you actually have to meet weirdos in person.

Then how can I sell some of my stuff? I dont like to use ebay because it cost money to put items for auctions. I cannot do garage sale.

Bonanza isn’t too bad. There’s no listing fee, you can have the item listed for sale as long as you want or until it sells, and the actual fee for selling the item is really cheap compared to ebay. What I like is that if someone makes an offer (agreeing to buy the item if the seller accepts), you can accept the offer but put a time limit on how long the buyer has to pay for the item before you put it back up for sale. So if the person disappears, there’s not nearly as much of a hassle as there is on ebay.

ebay is flooded with too much crap now making it hard for buyers to find anything.
it’s really difficult for newer sellers, but it also depends what kind of item you’re selling. some categories draw more PITAs (pain-in-the) and fraud than others (electronics/clothing). you have to make sure you describe everything to a T. ebay encourages buyers to file claims all the time. buyers also have an automatic 45 day return window with paypal.
We’ve been on ebay for years, but luckily now, awesome word of mouth, and google crawler bots have moved our website to #1 on google for our dolls.
