Feel free to state pros and cons, and why you prefer a certain housing. Thanks!

and a thread that you started last week… binkybunny.com/Default.aspx

          xpen pros:

they come assembled and set-up is five minutes.

can be easily moved around for cleaning and can do double duty as a playpen in another room (or even outside with supervision).

if you travel, much easier to take with you and set-up anywhere.

          xpen cons:

no levels, altho you can put overturned boxes, wood houses, or a MAZE in to give a place to jump to.

can only be expanded with the addition of a second xpen.

          NIC pros:

if space is limited you can build up rather than out.

can be configured however you want and rearranged to maintain interest for bunny.

existing condo can be expanded to be larger or accomodate a second bunny.

you can interact with bunny on a higher level.

          NIC cons:

cannot be moved around easily or taken outside/traveling.

it *can* lose integrity over time, zipties will need to be replaced, maybe wooden dowels get chewed.

the grids can be chewed and the coated part will come off.

you cannot walk into a traditional condo to get to the back corners.

          both:

can be pricey, but NOT any worse than a too-small petstore cage.

large enough for a bunny (or two) for the entire lifetime.

can be cleaned and reused over and over again for multiple bunnies.

still need protective flooring with is an additional cost.

I know there has been lots of talk, that’s why I wanted to do a poll. Cut and dry numbers of who prefers what– without all the confusing variables. Just, pen or condo. Simple.

I’m 55, have really bad knees and like the NIC condos so I have them on a higher level. They like to hide out in the lower level, but still choose to spend a great deal of time nearly eye level with me and that’s pretty cool.

I picked other because I actually use a combo of both- a NIC condo that is always open to an xpen. I think of it as their house and front yard. The xpen has a little door that I open up for when they get hop around time in the apt.
