A very young rabbit has been repeatedly grooming himself and then grunting and jumping or stomping on the ground as though in pain. He does it every 30 seconds and it is really painful to watch. What could it be???? I have a video but dont know how to upload it here. Any help would be appreciated. I will try and upload the vid.

          How old is the rabbit?
He’s grooming his bottom? Or reaching down to ingest cecal poop perhaps? Does it appear like he has cramping?
Does he produce normal looking rabbit poop? Or is this a bun not yet fully on solid foods?

A video would be very helpful if you can manage it.

Is he an outdoor bun? I would worry about the possibility of fly strike, in which case he should see a vet right  away

You could upload the video to Flickr and link to it here. I think that’d be the easiest way. Or YouTube.

Fly strike is when flies lay eggs near the anus, then the larvae hatch. You must take out the bun and check his butt area closely. If you see larvae it’s an emergency. The larvae must be carefully removed with tweezers and the area disinfected with povidone iodine (very much diluted). Are there any pet vets where you live? A common painkiller for cats and dogs is meloxicam. It is well tolerated by bun’s as well as cats and dogs.
Some intestinal worms can cause intense itching around the anus.

Would I see larvae of it is in the early stages?? How hard is it to treat fly strike?? He wont let me hold him. I think it is too painful. He wont even lie down anymore.
I am uploading the video right now. Will be an hour and a half or so before it is up.
                Thanks.

One of my past bunnies, who we found on the street, had tapeworm, along with coccidia. She was repeatedly licking her anus. I suppose the worms were causing her discomfort or itching. The worms were seen in fecal samples, then killed with an injection of Droncit. This was several years ago, and I don’t know if that’s still the treatment for tapeworm. You should get your bunny to the vet so that he or she can diagnose the problem and treat it. If it is fly strike, you certainly don’t want to delay treatment.

I think you’d see larvae, they cause the pain. Here is some good info about flystrike: http://www.medicanimal.com/The-symptoms-treatment-and-prevention-of-fly-strike-in-rabbits/a/ART111555

It must be treated asap, so you shouldn’t wait. Is there anyone that could help you hold the rabbit?

Could you give me your email adress if that is not too much. I managed to hold him and get some pics.

Do you mean for help getting images up?  Or do you think they’re too graphic for posting?

Have you checked your PM’s on here?

I tried uploading them here, but the image simply would not go up. It showed me a loading screen but never did anything beyond that. I have like 6 images. So I felt it would be much more practical and quicker to send them by email. I am seriously mentally tired of worrying.

No problem. I got the images. I will need to resize them before I add them here. It looks inflammed. Will he let you put a cold, wet towel there?
My first thought is maybe he has a blockage causing genital to become inflammed. Have you seen him be able to pee?

ETA: Oh, you said anus. It could be a prolapse.

I’ve seen the pix too. It doesn’t look like flystrike, but there is inflammation. If you are able to put a cold wet towel/piece of fabric there it could perhaps give him some relief. Do you think it’s around the anus the problem is located? A prolapse is a possibility, worms as Tobyluv mentions is another.
If the problem area is around the genitals it could be a urinary tract thing, as Jersey says.
