I took Pacey and Marshmallow into the vet today to get some flea medication. While there the vet tech girl came in and gave Marshmallow her treatment first and was cooing and awwwing all over her which Marshmallow just lapped up like she as the queen of the earth. She left and Pacey was still in the carrier and came back to give him his. I put the carrier on the table and he hopped out and put his head down fully expecting nose rubs since the other tech does the whole time Pacey is there. She looks at him laughs and say “That is by far the ugliest rabbit I have ever seen” first I was like
is she blind? Then Pacey proceeds to growl and latches onto her hand and refused to let go I had to actually have me and another tech pry his teeth from her hand. Secretly I was laughing in my head but outwardly I was like “Oh my God are you ok he usually loves people”
. The vet came in laughing and gave Pacey his flea medication and we left.
Well I would have done it too – she deserved it! Ugly? 1st – he is not! 2nd – fancy saying that about someones pet – hmph!
I know even if he was she shouldn’t have said it! Who says that when you work in a VET office around PETS? It was really hard not to smirk when he latched onto her but I held it in until she left the room…
Haha. Well at least Pacey knows you love him. Do you have email alert to replies? You’re always so quick?
LOL yeah I get an email whenever anyone replies to anything I have ever posted gives me something to read through when I have time.
I’m guessing that Pacey is the black little one??? Not that it matters … they’re both adorable!!! Tech deserved to get bit … Go Pacey, Go Pacey!!!
BTW – what type of flea medication do you use on them??? We were just having that conversation at the bunny rescue the other day!!!!!

Yeah he is my little black puffball. I use Revolution Kitten.
Way to go Pacey. BTW Pacey I think you are absolutely beautiful. You are a little lionhead 1 of my 2 fav breeds.
What an ugly thing to say.
Gosh vet tech you are the ugliest I have ever seen? Naa I wouldn’t have said that but I couldn’t help but laugh when you said Pacey just latched on. Smart Pacey.
I have to admit I was smiling when I read Pacey’s attack. That tech was way out of line. Ive never seen a rabbit I would call ugly, and Pacey is far from ugly.
I’m was quite pleased when he bit her (I know bad bunny owner) lol. Why work for a vet that deals mostly with rabbits if you want to insult them?? I dunno maybe she doesn’t like little balls of hair or something lol. I too have never met a rabbit that I would call ugly. But he and I both know he is adorable. ![]()
Yeah that’s really rude. That’s the same as calling your kid ugly. You would think it would be more offensive to call the kid ugly because it has your genes… but, um… you chose the looks of your pet to some extent.
Some animals actually ARE ugly, though, but in a really cute way, you know? Like pigs.
Actually that pig is not ugly in a cute way. But he is still somehow endearing. And if I was working at a vet’s office and his owner brought him in I certainly would not say I thought he was ugly to her face! And, since I was working in a vet’s office, I would probably think that he was lovely.
Rude.
lol aww I think that pig is ugly in a cute way! Its so ugly that its cute for some reason, but your right endearing is a good word for that piggy.
I told hubby and he laughed saying Pacey understood what was said so he bit her good.
Way to go Pacey! Good for you, she deserved to be bit. I hope one day someone says that to her about her child, maybe she’ll know how it feels. What kind of idiot says that about someone’s pet in front of them? And about such a cute little puffball too! I sure hope he got her good. You have way more self control than I do, I would have been laughing hystarically at her. I also would have told her that she deserved it. (Ok… when you insult the people I love I stop being a nice person. So sue me.)
I like that piggy lol. I don’t usually have such resolve when it comes to people being blatantly rude. But I have been working on my anger and was ‘good’ kind of lol.
lolz…Pacey introduces vet tech to the Black Rabbit of Inle..film at eleven! ^_^
I think BOTH your rabbits are absolutely precious! Perhaps you should print up a nice photo of the two of them and have your vet hang it in her/his office as an example of cuteness to whomever might be tempted to make such a crummy comment ever again?
Seriously, can you get someone fired over something like that? >.< That reminds me of the member here who wound up with another rabbit because the employee of the pet store told her it would be fed to the snake on premises. I rank this in the same league with that one. And I second Jerz's Hmph!
Ugly bunny… PShh… Is there such a thing?! I was at petsmart with my mother one time, she had her blue merle aussie (beautiful dog!) and I had my white boxer mix, Boss. The girl at the counter was ooing and awwing over the aussie, giving her treats and what not and ignoring Boss! My mom got so mad at her she reached in the bowl on the girls counter and gave Boss a treat, then asked the girl if it was company policy to be so rude to dogs that came in. Needless to say the girl was completely embarassed.
I just don’t know how people can be so rude about fur-babies. Pacey really taught her one!
I don’t know how someone can consider a bunny ugly?!!! I mean any rabbit I see I am a total spaz like OMG look how cuuuuute can I pet it??? LOL I am used to pet store employees being rude they all seem to think my dogs Haven is a pitty which seems to give them the idea they can shun and “fear” him. He isn’t a pit wish he was since I am smitten with the breed but he looks so sad when all the other dogs are getting attention and people pull their kids away telling them he is a bad dog not to go near him. He is an attention hog and gets sad when he isn’t getting any.
I know when I take Marshmallow in tomorrow for her ear the tech will not be the one seeing her.
First, I had to wait to learn which one is Pacey because they both look cute to me.
Second, Pacey has a genius IQ, knew exactly what she said, and acted accordingly. Give Pacey a treat.
Third, I don’t think you need to worry about that tech being disciplined. Since the vet was laughing as she came in it seems obvious she knows all about this tech’s shortcomings, and probably let her know she deserved it later. Perhaps Pacey has helped the tech rethink her career choice.
