Mimzy loves these. And with his (apparently) cast iron stomach, he’d eat the whole bag at one sitting if I weren’t watching him. But I noticed this batch I just ordered was a bit different than last. The pieces seem to be harder and thicker and perhaps even a different formula, because at first he wouldnt’ eat them. He is now, but…do any of you use these and did you notice a difference?
I wonder waht they thickened them with…did they just use more fiber perhaps?
These things always remind me of Cracklin’ Oat Bran…used to love that cereal as a kid.

LOL They remind me of Cracklin’ Oat Bran too! Maybe the manufacturer was inspired what formula to come up with for bunny treats one day while eating his breakfast cereal. I’m glad Mimzy enjoys them so much. Dustor won’t do more than sniff them and then turn away. I’m still offering them to him, though, every once in a while, to no avail. As to why the batch you got was noticeably different, that’s unusual. Perhaps you might want to contact Oxbow and bring it to their attention and ask them if they’ve changed it thusly. They might give you a free bag out of it.

I’m not sure they’re ‘wrong’ per se…just different. They seem harder and thicker and for some reason Mimz didn’t go at them like they were bunny crack like he usually does. He’s eating them fine now, he just seemed not thrilled when I opened the first bag and we’re into the second one now, so…don’t think there’s anything bad in it.
Maybe it’s just the seasonal thing again…the hay they’re using may be from a different source or just different in texture or something.However, the other two, who usually turn their noses up at them, will now eat them with gusto! 0_o I just thought it was weird and wanted to know if anyone else had experienced this.
Kinda like how they changed their papaya tablets…none of my bunnies like the new formula, sadly.
I’m sure they’re fine products…my bunnies are just picky I guess. *shrugs* So to clarify…I wasn’t complaining, just curious to see other bunnies’ reactions.
