When I was younger several dentists told me I had a overbite. I rejected treatment for it because it was so expensive. Bad mistake. A couple of days ago my jaw started bothering me, and I looked in the mirror really good at my teeth. The overbite has gotten tons worse. I have to go to the dentist tomorrow, and probably get the overbite fixed. I have no insurance. I’ve heard it usually cost $5,000 to fix overbites. Looks like I’ll be trying out Care Credit for the first time.

There might be new techniques to correct overbite from when you first looked into it. Hopefully some more affordable options.

How did your appt go? Did you find out what the cause of your discomfort was?
When the 3rd molars come (around age 17-18) they can cause a bit of trouble.

It depends how severe an overbite it is and what needs done to fix it. I have an under bite and my dentist said I needed surgery to correct it most likely, she said they would need to realign my jaw… I said no thanks (beyond the insane price tag, it didn’t sound pleasant). lol Mine doesn’t cause any issues though, it would be purely a cosmetic fix.
