        Hello again,

After losing one of our bunnies we made the decision to replace him while the other bunny was still young. So after a few weeks of bonding they seemed to get along fine and have now been living together quite happy for the past month. They are now 15 weeks old and have started to mount eachother!! I have noticed loose fur in their cage so they have obviously been fighting. The smaller of the two seems frighted when the bigger one comes too close, so I have had to seperate them again!!! As it is a while off them being 6 months to get them ‘snipped’ will they get lonely being apart ?? They live outside in the garden, one in the hutch and the other we have had to convert my daughters wendy house so they cant even see eachother!! What should I do?? Keep them seperated for the next 8 weeks?? And then will I have to start the bonding process all over again???

Sometimes when rabbits go through puberty, they can get agressive towards other rabbits until they are speutered. This is just a natural behavior to protect their territory, but it may mean that you need to keep them separated until after surgery. Sometimes surgery breaks bonds anyway, so you might have ended up rebonding them no matter what.

The other thing is that it is possible that the rabbits have been mis sexed. Even non-saavy vets can make a mistake with really young buns. So you’re better off/safer to keep them seperated.
