I just rescued a Lionhead male rabbit named Aubrey, his last owner barely took care of him just food, water and hay change in an outside cage. I had to give him a complete make over with hair cut and nail trim because he was matted and had curled nails. He is quite friendly and started litter training, my question is that ..am I doing more harm than good by taking him from being outdoors to being indoors? I don’t see any signs of over heating but my knowledge of that has just been what I’ve seen over the internet. He is eating plenty of fresh veggie, a lot of hay, and his pellet food. When I am home he has a big bunny proof areas to exercise and when I am at work he is in a large dog crate. I just need to know if I am doing harm by taking him inside.

Depends on the temperature difference where you live inside/outside. How long has he been inside? If it’s been over a week then he’s probably already used to it. If it’s only a couple days, maybe you could move him to a cold area of the house? Only temporarily, after a few days you could move him back to where he is now

Thank you for saving this bunny!

Since you have given him a hair cut, the risk of him getting over-heated has been reduced – he has less fur now than when he was living outside. If he seems fine, I think he is fine. I bet he is really happy that he gets to be with you!
