Hello all! Time to see if I am doing this right, and hopefully introduce ourselves. My daughter and I have recently become bunny lovers. In September of 09, we adopted our first rabbit. We brought into our home an adorable sable point Lionhead doe, and we named her Skittles. She immediately filled our hearts with fuzzy love! Days ago, we lost our little bunny :o( and our home seems so empty now. It seems as though her intestines just quit working. This came as a shock as we just had her into the vet for her biannual exam the prior week and everything looked great.
Of course, now that we are hooked on bunnies, we are in the process of finding our next bunny to love. We have our eye on a Lionlop buck, but we will need to meet him and snuggle him to make sure he is right for us.

We look forward to becoming aquainted with other bunny lovers, and hope to benefit from the site.

Welcome to the forums. I’m sorry to hear you lost Skittles recently. My condolences to you and your daughter. Is that Skittles as your avatar?  EDit: I just saw your photo album and see it is her. She looked a Doll !  Though, maybe with a smidgen of attitude?  I’m sure she’ll hold a special place in your hearts as the one who lead you into the world of bunnies.

Enjoy looking around the site. There’s lots of very helpful people if you have any questions. Or you can hang about and talk bunnies with others that love them too!

            Hello and welcome.

I am so sorry to hear about your beloved Skittles. Losing a pet is always so difficult. They truly are members of the family. Good luck finding a new friend. <3

My heartfelt condolences on the loss of your beloved Skittles. I got my Buddie – a black tort lionhead buck – in Sept 09 as well and he succumbed to a seizure in only April of this year. Less than a month later I got Dustor, a puffy little sablepoint lionhead buck. We’re working on bonding – him and me. The only snuggles we’ve had so far were initiated by me, but we’re coming along. Best wishes with your new companion bunny. I hope you will recover from your grieving for Skittles soon and I hope you benefit greatly from the Forum! Hello and Welcome!

Thank you all! And yes, Skittles will always be “the Original” bunny :oD
We will be going to look at a couple of broken chinchilla minilop bucks sometime this week. However, this breeder seems to have minilops that are a little larger than I would expext (but I may have been misguided as to their average adult weight)……Free2Dream, how much does your lop weigh??

Welcome to the forums! I’m sorry to hear about Skittles. she was adorable!!!

Good luck on your search for another bunny. I know you mentioned going to look at some from a breeder – and of course there’s nothing wrong with that – I just want to point out that there are lots and lots of adoptable bunnies in shelters and rescues that you might want to consider. I know that’s not always an option for those that don’t have a rescue nearby, but I just wanted to make you aware of that option in case you weren’t already
