[Meatloaf N Bunnito]

Hi! My name is Sarah. I am the proud human of two adorable lionhead bunnies. =p
They are, a boy, named Bunnito and, a girl, named Meatloaf. You can see them in my avatar. I think Bunnito might have the wooly lionhead gene, which I am perfectly ok with, since he is doubly as fluffy as his littermate Meatloaf. I got both buns from Petland April of 2013. They were 2 months old and so cute n tiny. I had no idea what lionhead bunnies looked like prior to looking up a pet bunny to get. I used to have a rabbit when I was younger, but unfortunately i did not have the proper tools or knowledge to take care of a rabbit then. but, this time i was well equipped with the internet and awesome forums to look through for more info. Also having a dwarf type rabbit also helps since a store bought cage is perfect for them when i am not home.

i also like to think that buying a bun at a petstore is still just as good as getting one from a rescue in the sense that i know i gave two bunnies a great home that they may not have gotten otherwise. i don’t like to think of what may have happened had i not bought them. And the petstore actually had to close down several months after i got my buns due to lack of sales. i live in a ln area with no big cities nearby, so sales are really solely dependent on locals.

Anywho, a year later my buns are happy, healthy, altered, and super fluffy and sweet. They are full of personality and love being around people. if you lay down near em they will hop over to you to investigate the new “hooman” in the room. I also love when they decise to chin parts of me. it usually ends up being a random finger lol. they dun want the hand just maybe a pinky finger lol. i love my buns. they are amazing lil furballs that keep me entertained with their goofy antics.

Hi Sarah – and that’s ok, I didn’t formally introduce myself either – I just squeezed, pushed my way in to BB, ha ha ha ha……

And don’t ever get us wrong – we don’t encourage bunny purchases from pet shops cause we want to discourage breeding for unthoughtful purchases, like ‘isn’t that cute, lets buy it for the 3yo and when we realise the kid can’t look after it we’ll dump it’! If only everyone who bought a bunny from a pet shop was like YOU! I wanted my Henry and my son and to drive 6+ hours to get him from a breeder (no bunny pet shop’s where I live) and that is also discouraged for the same reasons, unless like me – I was committed to giving my bunny a life long home (I lost my sanity in the process, but hey, I did it! LOL!). And I am the first to admit I had no idea how to care for Henry properly – thank goodness for BB and all the amazing member’s! Henry is now a ‘spoiled brat’ bunny and I have most BB member’s to thank for that (gee guys – thanks, SIGH!), LOL!

Agreed, I know there are other forums out there, I’ve found my way to them a few times, but this is the only one that I actually participate in.

Welcome to BB! I’ve seen you around the forums and have been admiring your avatar. I LOVE the siamese look on buns, I thought I would die when I saw MissD’s Buddy the first time. I’m partial to lops.. but it seems lionheads are trying to make me want them. YOU AREN’T HELPING!!! OMG I WANT YOUR FLUFFERS!!!

Oh lordy… I have a million pics of them from the first day i got em to just today lol. They are staying with my bf right now since I am not supposed to have pets where I live and we are packing up to move (buns are coming with then along with my bf), so i make the bf send me pics every day. and i love their coloring too. it make an already adorable fluffy bun even more adorable. it really enhances the lion look. XD

I may upload some videos to youtube of them runnig around and generally being goofy. I should transfer all my pics to my computer so i can upload some to here. i have a ton on facebook right now. i have a few friends on there who know it’s me when bunny related posts are posted hah. even had one send me a bunny pic lol. i am becoming the crazy bunny lady XD

but here i am normal lol. which is nice. plus everyone here at BB is super nice and understanding. then again, someone who loves animals can’t be a bad person.

Also Henry seems like a hoot. I’ve seen a few of your stories and he sounds like a total handful, but glad you’ve hung in there and from a recent post it seems like he is finally coming around and realizing you are awesome and gave you a bunny lick. =D

And LEL we totally need to share stories about our lionheads! So glad I found this breed! I am also glad my foray into bunnies again has been pleasant and got lucky with two mild mannered buns, though at times, mischevious.

My bf had two headsets chewed through by Miss Loafie. >_<
He couldn’t even get mad at her cause she’s so darn cute! lol
