I had had such an amazing evening cuddling and playing with Remy, and he came to sleep between my feet all night.  So obviously I was in a super good mood when I happened to wake up momentarily early in the morning.  Well… Remy accidentally jumped down and got stuck where the sheet tucks into the mattress.  He’s a big silly, so this happens occasionally.  I pulled the covers aside so he could get out, and I helped him back up on the bed.  But then something must have spooked him because he fell off of the bed!!!!!

He skittered under the bed, as I jumped up to see if he was okay.  He seemed unhurt, but frazzled.  I went to get him his favorite treats and was able to coax him out to eat one.  Then he ran back, much to my frustration.  I was so afraid he would think I had caused his fall!!

Finally, I reached out my hand and he came to me and let me pet him, which I did until my knees ached on the hardwood floors.  It took me another 15 minutes to get him to jump on my shoulder and get back into bed, where I wrapped him in my arms and covered him with kisses.

Unfortunately, we were both way too shaken to go back to sleep.  So now I’m a zombie.

Remy, however, is acting like nothing happened and is zooming around the room…… lol

Bunnies can get themselves into some pretty tight places. That must have been scary for you both.
Is he a totally free range bun? My bunny sleeps in her cage at night for my own peace of mind so nothing happens to her while I’m asleep.
We need some free-range bunny slaves to pitch in with some advice here.

Perhaps getting him a cuddle cup or a cozy hut on the floor by the bed would give him a little haven hidey place of his own to rest in while you’re sleeping.

He is totally free range, and he actually sleeps under the covers with me at night. He’s usually nestled between my feet, but I guess last night he decided to explore…

Now he’s binkying all over. What a ham…!

Well, it’s the best possible way to wake up in the morning!!!

                Unless something like this happens……..

I just posted two videos of him in the Lounge.  Check them out!

Awe. Poor guy. Lily is free-range for the most part too. I only close her cage if I’m not home. She’s not really a trouble maker and does well. Sometimes I wake up and she has jumped on my bed to check on me. Hee hee. My bed is over 3 feet off the ground. I can’t believe my little dwart can jump that high!

                    Aww!  That is so cute!

We put a little box up against the bed, so he can get up and down in case he has to run use the litterbox in the middle of the night.  Sometimes I’ll wake up to a thump of him coming back to bed after peeing, hehe!

Well, for us it was as simply as just allowing him! Thank goodness my husband was okay with it… I’m so lucky because he adores Remy too!

Lucky you.   My hubby doesn’t want any animals in the bedroom.  My cat poor thing. I sure miss her.  She couldn’t even come in the bedroom without him going nuts.

I am surprised he didnt’ notice me brushing them in the bedroom yesterday to catch it on video.

Also lucky yours doesn’t pee on the bed or on your pillow. Oh so you sleep on the ceiling too?  You said your bed is high.

haha! Yep… it’s super high. I actually like it that way, because in the morning it’s easier to slide down out of bed than push myself up

Why didn’t he like the cat? Was he allergic? Stan’s allergic to cats, so we’ve never had one, but thank goodness he isn’t allergic to bunnies!

I cater to my critters so much for household decisions- like which candles, cleaners, etc we can buy- not to buy delicate things they could break- easily washable sheets, comforter, etc.  My husband would probably throw a fit- but I would insist that the sheet not be tucked in anymore to prevent it from happening again.  Yeah, it might be a minor inconvenience and not look as nice- but it would be worth it to me.  I usually start by suggesting something completely ridiculous and impractical to correct the situation- so then we compromise on what I wanted in the first place.

haha! Better to ask forgiveness than permission?

I’m afraid that if I untuck the sheet he’ll just fall straight down to the floor!!! Sometimes he’s naughty and jumps down there on purpose to nibble. Rascal!

Also… he’s nipped many holes in our sheets. Thank goodness they weren’t new! Stan just thinks it’s funny. Thank goodness again!

Except for the falling out of bed thing… I iz jealous. o_o

I want Mimzy to be able to snuggle with me on my bed all night! *cries*
And I can empathize with you on the whole episode, as Mimzy fell from my arms to under my bed once, and it took a few blueberries to get him out, then long hours of watching/holding him very closely and carefully to be absolutely certain nothing was broken.
*sigh* My blood pressure is rising just thinking about it. My rabbit’s going to give me a coronary some day.
