my boyfreind heard about a female rabbit that was young and unwanted as we had been looking for a rabbit to bond with our youngest female i told him to go see it i went out and they arrived back to see if the rabbits would get on io got a text saying everything was fine GREAT came back home and discovered the female rabbit is actually a boy and was humping my female as i came in the door my female is just coming up to 14 weeks old .. ive separated them how do i know if shes pregnant!

I don’t know much about pregnancy in rabbits bought I just wanted to offer some comfort! Try not to panic, are you SURE he is a boy? It’s sooo hard to sex young rabbits. Females will hump females trying to figure out dominance. I would have a vet check the sex of this new rabbit to be sure if it’s a boy first. I don’t know how a vet tells if a female is pregnant but I know some signs of pregnancy are building a nest and pulling out their fur. I hope everything is okay! *vibes for your buns* and congratulations on the new addition, even if it has led to this situation. Also don’t beat yourself up about this, there are many times that the sex of a young rabbit is mistaken. If she is pregnant it was an accident and you can help her get through the pregnancy safely. well im pritty sure hes a boy as when i grabbed him over the floor everything was still out….(his lipstick ) and hes 3-4 months old as the previous man wasnt sure im not sure weather to kill my boyfreind or the previous owner my female is pritty young still so i hope i seperated them early enuff im takin him to the vets on pay day 29th of this month to get him fixed =D

thats what i was going to ask someone told me 3 months i actually think the rabbit is older so im going ot ask my vets opinion cause the previous owner told me he had him 2 months and didnt know how long the owner before him had had him so he could be as old as 6 months from what ive gathered

Unfortunately as you know….it only takes once!  Can you take them into the vet?  I had a similar OOPS w/ Jessica.  I took her to the vet w/in 24-48 hours and she told me that at that point she couldn’t really assess whether she was pregnant or not.  Her suggestion was to either wait or schedule a spay ASAP!  If there were embryos they could be “aborted” or “removed” during the spay.  I couldn’t get the funds together fast enough, so I put it on the back burner.  I monitored her weight, activity levels, etc.  We couldn’t tell she was pregnant until we came into school one morning and there were bunny babies everywhere!  Unfortunately, I think that happens to many of us OOPS folks.  Keep us posted.

If you saw his bits he’s likely a boy…And it only takes once. They can be neutered as young as three months, but most vets recommend five…

I looked up tons on pregnancy as I thought Kokanee might have been when I first got her. They basically don’t show any signs, as they are prey animals. They don’t milk ahead of time, nipples don’t drop and you can tell by looking -most vets can’t tell by feeling.

How old is she? You could take her in NOW for a spay and then it would be all right and you wouldn’t have to worry. I would really recommend the spay now and if you can’t afford it, you could probably work out payment plans with your vet, especially considering the circumstances.

If she makes a nest two weeks from now-false pregnancy. If she makes one in about amonth, she’s likely pregnant. Pregos make the nest the day of birth or the day before. False pregos will make one approx fourteen days after ‘coupling’

yeah rabbits can actually get pregnant as early as 10 weeks, so it is possible indeed. Best to go to the vets!

She’s really too young for a spay but she’s also too young for a pregnancy – best to get the advice of the vet.

The males can be neutered when their testicles drop around 3 or 4 months.

Hope she isn’t pregnant though.

i hope she isnt thou i would like to wait until they are older to spay her and get him fixed … its 50 pound for a male rabbit at my vets is that expensive

Oh if only that’s how much it was here!  I’d be at the vets in a heartbeat.  I know it’s all relative though but man why does this state/area have to be so much…grrr!! I’m looking at upwards of 200s

oh i will my bf said he will get it done on pay day both of us are very broke cause of doing up the house and rent going up he earns 200£ a month as he is a student and i 360£ most of it goes on the rabbits im a lil worried about getting him fixed =S he had to be first as i have 2 females

Yes – it is probably a good idea to take her to the vet to get an opinion, the vet may feel that she is too young to be pregnant or to get spayed, so definitely get the vets advice. Even though she is old enough to get pregnant, you wouldn’t want to get her spayed too young if the vet does not recommend it.
