Omg i think wolfie’s a boy :|

Probaly irrelevent to most of you but I had to post it somewhere!

Literally when I first bought wolfie the woman told me she was a male and so I called her Wolfgang and thinking she was male for about a week etc  I took her to a vets who was 70% sure she was female but told me to bring her back. I decided to change vets and had another check up when she got a lil older who confirmed she was female. I also had another weight check about 2 months from that check up who also confirmed she was female.. So I was literally 100% sure she was female and I felt like I been messed around a lil bit sort of thing uncertain of her sex…

And just now.. I felt a lump on her tummy.. thinking it was some sort of cancerous lump I freaked out started sweating real bad and cradled her like a baby and tried to have a look and there were 2 massive pink lumps on her tummy sort of near her genitals.. I thought omg it cant be cancer on BOTH sides symmetrical to eachother 😐 And then it struck me… testicals?!?!!??!!? NO WAY

I can JUST about see 2 pink lumps either side but not 100% certain since her fur is so long and fluffy..so I had a feel and I’I’m googling pictures and I’m positive that’s what they are.

8 Months down the line and he became a she who is now a possible he!?!!?!?!?!? I HATE VETS  I just bought her a pink mesh harness to take her for walks she or should I say he is going to be looking very camp!!!   LOL

Anyways thats my freak out over… when I get back to uni taking her in for another health check out just incase! She’s also huge now and defo not a mini/holland lop she’s literally the size of a small cat rofl. Extra cuddly 

Also wondering at 8 months are they signs of any like… teenage hormonal stuff? Because I found it weird when everyone kept saying 5+ months female bunnies start getting territorial/forgetting their litter training and becoming slightly more aggressive? Wolfie hasn’t been caught humping things yet so I dont know???

hahah. Well, this is actually really common. It’s so hard to sex a bunny. And as far as humping goes: my female bunny humped EVERYTHING and it wasn’t until I took her to the vet for a pre-fixing checkup that the vet informed she was a she.
The real test is if she has a penis. If you can’t find it yourself, it’s difficult…, then I would take her (him? lol) to the vet because even if s/he isn’t having the crazy hormones, you should go ahead and fix him/her.

Lack of humping means nothing. There are a lot of boys that don’t hump and a lot of girls that do. Don’t worry, real men wear pink. Hehe!

Aside form getting Pepper pregnant I found Piglet to be very well behaved when he came into his family jewels, it was Pepper who behaved appallingly which is one of the reasons I continued to believe they were both boys (until the babies arrived). I still call her Humpty Dumpty or Pepper the Perv from time to time.

When I got Finn I asked the petshop lady if he was boy or a girl. She had me hold him and found his genitals and carefully expressed his penis. Maybe you and a friend could do that to Wolfe?

And as for getting used to she maybe being a he… A friend of mine has a turtle named Dave. I recently told her Dave was a girl. She’s had Dave for years and refuses to change her name

But yeh I initially named Wolfie a boys name thinking she was a he so now IF she IS a he then  there’s no problem with the name *phew*  hahaha

But it’s just so weird I even took her to the vets at 5/6 month ish and she was still a “female” now thiss!!!

Kind of glad is wolfie is a boy bunny now since getting her neutured costs slightly less than getting her spayed. OR him. argh I need to get use to him he his now  And I heard boy bunnys have better temporments.. I just thought I was blessed with a well behaved bunita

Anyways I will see my bf sunday and shall ask him to help me I might take pics if it’s not to X-rated or rude to ask if you guys agree. I’m not sure I want to take her to the vets yet until somethings wrong it costs £30 JUST for a check up.

I guess he was just really good at hiding his boy bits when the vets were looking! It’s possible to tell gender without actually seeing or feeling the testicles, but it’s pretty difficult – the only difference is a tiny hole vs a tiny slit. At least your name matches up with gender again. 🙂

Poor Wolfie. It is very difficult to tell, especially in a young bun, but it’s frustrating that the vets really had no idea.
