Anyone excited about seeing this?
I have always loved the Olympic Opening Ceremonies. I look forward to them when they are on.
One of my favorites that I have always remembered watching and thinking was just out of this world spectacular with the Barcelona Summer Olympics (1992) Opening. WOW.
Here’s a link to the Barcelona Opening Ceremonies (long as you can imagine) but if you ever have the time well worth watching:

In fact this blog seems to have a copy of all the opening ceremonies from 1932 on – well worth bookmarking to watch some pieces of history…
I love the Opening Ceremonies!! China’s was amazing.
Totally looking forward to the opening ceremony tomorrow!!! we’re having a “mini party” with a couple of friends coming over to watch on the telly!! sooooooo excited. just really curious to see what they have planned!! somehow i dont think that its going to be quite as good as china or barcelona, but we will see….
i read that they mixed up north and south korea’s flags when announcing teams,, awesomeness
LOL – oh dear…you probably don’t want to mess with North Korea…I have to say that is probably not a good mistake to make with any country.
I can not wait! I hope I will get to watch them.
Woo! We are so excited! We’re going to be camped out in front of the TV with snacks, my dog, my kitten and my bun! Family bonding hehe<3
Is there anywhere online to watch olympic coverage? I don’t have cable. Im mostly interested in equestrian events but I find watching anything is interesting. Go Canada!!!!

hey, we had to get at least one thing wrong…but as you say….why did it have to be north korea that we upset!!1
littlepuffytail…try the BBC website or i found this link on wiki-how http://www.london2012.com for the official site, apparently you can watch live events on this one once the games have started.
BBC America may also be worth a try
i hope you get to watch!!

Littlepuffytail, I think you can also watch them on the NBC website live.
Chacha bun and I will be watching the Opening Ceremony festivities – If Mommy gets off of work in time. I have heard of two different times here in Pacific Standard Time – 1 pm, or 4 pm. The TV says 7 pm Eastern Time, which means 4 pm my time. o_O So, I really don’t know what to expect.
Bellemarie is right. Go to the NBC site and they have free live streaming of the games so long as you have a cable provider. You just sign in using your account info from your cable provider and you can watch it all!

They mixed up the flags yesterday at their first football (soccer) match. Yes for some reason some of the events actually technically started before the opening ceremonies. But yeah they had the South Korean flag up instead of the North Korean, and the team refused to play.

you can watch the canadian feeds on CTV.ca
but only durring its “tv” showing hours, i was watching the Opening and my feed just got cut off cuz it was finished on TV but i was about 30 min behind

Huckleberry watched the opening ceremony with us.
I thought it was a good opening ceremony. I enjoyed the children’s literature portion.
However, Cinnabun was not happy with me since I was paying attention to the Olympics and not her. I got the bunny back a few times.
I dont know…. It was good thing they had announcers because I am not sure I would have followed it otherwise. The rings raining the gold sparks was incredible though!
Well hello there Daniel Craig and David Beckham!
I bought a bottle of Absolut Grapevine to drink during the festivities!
I am enjoying the ceremony! London made it their own! Some are expecting fabulous opening ceremonies like China, but I like London’s just as much as China’s ceremony! I like the dancing and all of the different era music! Sigh, I miss 80’s music so much ![]()
London’s was so…British! Very dry British humor. I love it over there, I’d kill to go back.
I agree with ChaCha, the music was some of my favorite bits. British music is wonderful.
Last night was the first time I saw one. I walked in on London’s opening ceremony and it blew me away! I’ll definitely be keeping track of them from now on
I loved it! That Rowan Atkinson bit was great
.
That being said, I was a quite disappointed to read this article: http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2012/jul/28/london-2012-nbc-opening-ceremony?CMP=twt_gu
Hucklebunny, I’m with you on needing the narration. I thought the whole thing was, um, different… The fireworks at the end were awesome and the rings showering sparks were also neat. The rest was not really my cup of tea, unfortunately.
I am so glad so many of you on the other side of the Atlantic managed to watch it and even better, enjoyed it!!
Even i was confused at some points and had to wait for the commentators to explain what was going on, so dont worry, even the brits dont always “get” british humour!! lol
LOL snowbird, good to know!
