That’s so cool that he’s trained to get up onto you to be picked up!

And Frankie would never sit still to be brushed (i have to do it while he eats) and would certainly NEVER let me brush his tummy!

The burka you’re wearing (is that what it’s called?) is really pretty!

The blue thing I am wearing is an abaya the scarf is a hijab.  I made the abaya I am wearing

Cotton  used to run when I tried to pick him up from the floor.  I learned to use a word to let him know my intentions either pettings or pick you up.  After I would pick him up I gave him a treat.  So now he is ok with it.

The jumping from the table he started that on his own when I was brushing him and he didn’t want to be brushed so he would jump up on me.  Funny how he knew I would catch him.  For a while I had to keep a hand a few inches over his head to discourage him from jumping up on me til I was ready.

              He is funny

A burka is the 3 layered veil we wear over our faces.  I dont’ wear one tho it isn’t obligatory.  It was neat tho I would put the first layer then the second layer down…The 2nd layer I could see thru and read a book just fine.  It worked as sunglasses too.. People would see me reading with the 2 layers over my face lol..

Sometimes if it is real windy and cold I will wear it but not normally do I wear it.

Both the abaya and the hijab are gorgeous. Is it difficult to find them where you live?

I can order them online.   Sometime when someone visits Egypt they bring stuff back to sell.  I get them from them as well.  I used to sew but I dont’ anymore. Cheaper to buy already made.  Lot less work too.

I also wear loose pants and a long shirt   or skirts too.  I like the abayas tho they are very comfy. The pakistani style clothes are neat and comfy too.  I used to have several of those but I only have 1 now.  I got a little larger than I used to be.  Meds tend to do that,.

Oh don’t I know it… I was diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and since I got on medication I have gained about twenty pounds! BLEH!

I love to knit, but I don’t really do it to keep myself clothed… I do it because it’s fun and relaxing! Plus, there are only three or four weeks out of the year in Florida when you can wear wool scarves, lol.

Are the abayas hot in the summertime? Florida summers are so grueling… we’re in Jacksonville and my glasses are already fogging up on a regular basis when I go outside.

My glasses do that too.   Well the material is light.  I have some of those for summer.  And some not so light for winter. The 2 weeks we get of cold like you said.    They are made of light material soft too. Well the summer ones are.  But regardless of what you wear 95 degree weather and 80% humidity bluck.

ON Mythbusters they had  a program on 2 snow men they hauled in refrig truck to Arizona or Nevada in 100 degree heat. One they put a coat on one. The other nothing. They sat in direct sunlight.  Guess who melted faster.

The one without the coat on.  The covered one melted way way slower it’s head was still on when the other ones head shrunk and made a funny shape.

                          That’s cool!!

Maybe I should wear a light layer all over

ooh thanks very informative… the abaya does look comfy but i think the head scarf part would annoy me, although I would love to not have to take the time to style my hair…
