im sure u all will let me kno if im being overly worked up here.  ok bella and liam came from a reptile pet store, little bella probably was meant for snake food liam not cuz he cost more..so i savedid the little monkeys..dont like the whole bunnysa for snakes.but i did like the people….weird ..anyway.  sampson was at the store waitin for a home with bella. so beginning of august.a coupkle of time a week i went held him cleaned his cage gave him food and water.i luvs him but have two bunnies..cant have him  so i told everyone i knew about him…them threemore little ones came in one just like bella that went in with a snake but the snake wasnt hungry, so now i have four little ones breakin my heart cuz i want them to have a home…..so one day all four were gone they said someone took them all,,i was sooooo happy samson and all had a home……well i went to the humane society to donate hay..and samson and two were there the lady was savin them from the store…which is good but my heart broke cuz i thought they had a home.so now i go visit them at the shelter….then this week sampson was neut. thats good but then i checked and they had sent him to a petstore to be seen more……..but here the thing and maybe i overreacted, but i luvs him….his cage was a glass octagon he couldnt fit in the hidey house  the water bottle was too small and hand swinging there was a huge bowl of pellets and a smidgen of hay..and he was going in cirlces lookin stressed..now where to hide….he did come up to glass by me and lick and sit will a talked quietly to him and i was abl e to rub hims nose and ears…but i cried again…. i asked if i bought a bigger hide would they put it in and could he have more hay…am i a jerk.. they said they had a big one they could put in and they hay stuck so they just threw in a little….so i asked for more   then left/////but why  if you have a big hidey  and why cant u take a minute to get hay…unacceptable……im sad….

Well, they have limited resources at the humane society so they are doing the best that they can. The best thing you can do is to keep donating hay and hope that they find a good home.

sorry if it sounded like i waz upset at the humane society..i wasnt…the store..is what upset me  they had a big enuff hidey house and enuff hay just didnt do it

I think you are doing a wonderful thing visiting those bunnies. Its wonderful that they ended up at the humane society and not as snake food. The humane society is there to protect the rabbits, and they are doing the best they can do for these little babies. The pet shop is only temporary, and he will find his loving forever home soon. In the mean time, you did a great job suggesting they add more hay etc. Im sure it wont take him long to find his forever home In the meantime he has you to watch over him.

Sorry, I had trouble understanding what you meant…. Did you ask to buy him a hide-away and more hay at the store?

Stores also have a limited amount of supplies, but usually enough to house their pets. I also know that many stores are ignorant about animals. I have seen many Rats/mice/bunnies/ect on the wrong bedding, eating the wrong food. What you did wasn’t rude, in fact you bettered his life. I would have done the same. I would rather seem like a jerk then have a little animal suffer from ignorance.

Also, if they are housing him wrong, tell the HS, usually they send pets that are available to shops so more people would see them. They aren’t technically goving them away, after a while if the pets still not adopted they usually take them back. My shelter usually brings adoptable cats to the family pet shop and petco so they can be seen. Petco also does a few days out of the month adoption days for dogs from the local shelter.

Also, I agree with the food for snakes thing… but I also hate seeing rats and mice sold in the same matter (I know, they need to eat too… I just hate it). I know from experience that rats and mice are amazing pets… and honestly, I love snakes, but nothing compares to the companionship of a rabbits, rat or mouse. :/

thanks all…i went in yesterday and the humane society lady i know was there too so we talked about it…they put in the lager box..and we will keep an eye on all of them.i am also gonna volunteer then i can go in and help to…and i know the h.s. as limited hay and stuff so i will donate some too.
