soo a BIG tornado hit outside of olmsted falls(where i live) and of course i was home alone. dad’s shopping and mom’s working
. mom calls to tell me about the tornado and i am like FREAKING OUT cuz i just got home from school(one actually touched down in Grafton)! so i find the cats and dog, put them in the basement. it was raining REALLY REALLY hard and the sky was a pukey green. quiet outside too
. lots of thunder and lightning. then the whole sky flashed bright white… hurt my eyes… and tured green again. so weird… i had to lug the dog crate in the basement for buttons… i was soo nervous i was sweating and yeah you get it. the wind tooooooo it was bad. like well, a tornado! so i was scared… poor buttons out in the weather
so i ran and got him and put him in his little crate. i sat in the basement with all the pets, a nervous wreck may i say, while all my family members were calling eachother, concerned (we are such a loving family LOL)
. i didn’t want to go upstars i was too scared. about three hours later it passed. now its just raining buttons went back out w/ a bowl of veggies. yay i survived the killer storm! LOL! did anyone else hide from the storm? any problems? did the tornado touch down where you guys live? are your bunnies okay?

Oh wow – glad you and Buttons are okay! That must have been scary.
Omg how scary! Glad your okay. Hope it doesnt come this way.
I flip out for all storms. I have a routine for them and everything lol. If the weather channel says tornado watch, I treat it like a warning. First is the baby gate seperating the two parts of the basement and grab any cats I see while in the process. Then go back for the buns, carriers, hay. Then the cats go in one part of the basement. Then the dogs in the other. Then water bowls all around and dog leashes just in case. Then I watch the news to see if any of it was necessary.
Don’t get many tornadoes here in Oregon, thank god. I can’t imagine havign one touch down near me. *shivers*
I know where Olmstead is! I live near Warren, OH. Luckily it missed us and I saw they called off the warnings. I think we might get some rain later on tonight. I was alone with the bunnies and was hoping it wouldn’t hit us or I’d have trouble getting them all in their travel cage
yea it was scary but seeing the sky and stuff was kinda cool! it was cool how it changed. im glad buttons is okay. that was my foremost concern. but when he got in the basement he was fine. skibunny- cool! you know where i am! yay!
Eeeee the sky all green. I have heard that means tornadoes. Whew. You did good. Gathering up all the pets into the basement.
How is the rest of the family?
Bunny liz that is funny Then you watch the news to see if it was all necessary lol…
Yikes, we’re glad you and all your family are ok, those storms can popup quick!
everyone in my family’s doing great. haha. they do pop up pretty quick ![]()
oh my goodness! that is so scary. we don’t have many tornados in louisiana, but hurricane season always keeps us on our toes. i’m glad everything is okay for you and your family!
Scary! I freak out when it’s just thunder and lighting. I absolutely hate when it storms because it usually happens when I’m home alone. There is a Hurricane warning for my area this weekend but it’s supposed to be pretty mild when it gets here. It’s raining super hard right now, glad my bunnies are inside. My poor horse is out though, I have to go let her in!
Corpathina you are a cajun from louisiana, So am I lol. My Mom still lives there. I miss those huge old trees with spanish moss dripping from them.
Don’t miss the mosquitos
i am definitely a certified cajun! my grandfather went to school on a school-boat and we still have lots of land in the atchafalaya basin. i do love louisiana, but i could love it a whole lot more if there were no mosquitos and if it were a little cooler. though florida’s not too much better in those areas, eh? and you guys get the hurricane threat a whole lot more than us..

* makes mental note of louisiana & goes to look up bus fares*
hahahaha! you may not bun-nap mj!!
My Dad lived on the river and ran trout lines. My grandma never learned english only cajun french. My aunt across the street had horses rabbits and a skunk.
ON the other side of us was a race horse training place and stalls to rent.
Brings back memories
wow! that’s really cool.. i bet if we swapped stories we’d know a lot of the same places/people. my mom used to train race horses. south louisiana’s a small place when you really get down to it.

I grew up in Newfoundland so i know how that is!
even what they call the “tail end” gets pretty bad when you add the fact the winds get pretty hard on a normal day! poor horsie!
ahh.. I hate storms.
I used to live in Kansas when I was younger….scary. We have had some tornados here in North Carolina tho…I’ve seen one.. very scary!!
Actually, I know where Olmsted Falls is too! I travel to Ohio a lot for work and when I need to stay near the Cleveland airport I often stay in Olmsted at the Hampton Inn 🙂
Glad the tornado missed you! That must’ve been really scary. Glad we don’t really get them much out east.
