Rabbit name: The Lop Ness Monster (aka Nessie)
Rabbit Age: Not quite sure. I am owner #3 so I’m guessing a couple of years. I should probably have asked the last owner but I didn’t think of it at the time
How long has your bunny been with you?: A few months short of a year now. I got her at the end of last May
Spayed/Neutered?: She is now! She was not fixed when I got her and I hadn’t really planned on spaying her but she had false pregnancy after false pregnancy and I figured something was wrong so we got her spayed. Turned out to be a great decision. Not only did all of her fur grow back, she became far less aggressive and more friendly. Also no more humping!
Rabbit Personality Traits: Smart! She has learned to open doors, she knows where her food is kept. She knows that she is not allowed in certain rooms and she knows that those rooms are the most fun so she’ll come running if she hears the door open. She knows where she doesn’t belong so if I catch her in a no-bunny zone and say “hey! get out of there! you don’t belong in there!” she knows she’s in trouble and hops away. She is not a big fan of cuddles but she does love some head pets and will reciprocate with licking.
Info on me:
I had lots of rabbits as a kid. They were outside rabbits and we started with two… then there were more. That’s all I’m going to say on the subject since intentional breeding is a no-no topic. I’m an adult now and I got a bunny after I had a stable job and home. I live in an apartment (the landlord is aware that I have a rabbit). A friend of a friend was moving and couldn’t take the bunny with her and I had been looking for a bunny and the middle friend connected us and that’s how I ended up with Nessie!
I’m currently considering getting another bunny so that Nessie can bond but the one I had hoped to get ended up being a complicated situation and I didn’t have a good feeling about it. I’m hoping to get an already-fixed bunny. We shall see!
