I have no idea how I’m going to get everything done that I need to get done!
I am leaving for San Jose to meet up w/ my boyfriend while he’s on a business trip out there (he bought me a plane ticket for the end of his conference so we could spend a few extra days out in California) on 10/03/14 early morning. I have so much to do for work and I have to get my work caught up before I leave work at 3:30 tomorrow since I’m going to be off two days – I brought some of it home w/ me to try and get more done. I have to pack up all 7 bunnies & their belongings which is much more difficult when the bunnies are spread out between 2 different houses! Tomorrow after work I have to drop them all off at the bunny sitters and the groups are all staying w/ a different person so I have to drop them off at 3 different locations! OY. 
THEN I have to try and find time to pack myself up and get in bed so I can leave for the airport early enough on Thursday to not be late. My flight leaves at 9am which isn’t too bad but still will be early rising! I also have some homework I should be working on as well as having to clean the bunny areas before I leave since no bunny will be in there & I don’t want their poo & urine just sitting there all weekend! I also am taking a open diving certification course for our trip to Hawaii in November which means I’m trying to find time to do the online portion of that so I can do my open water & pool diving w/ the instructors on site. SO MUCH TO DO! Since Aaron left this morning for San Jose, I’m also having to take care of Simba & Lacey which means going to his house twice a day to feed and take care of them and give them some attention on top of everything else!
Ok! I’ve decided I’m going to take an hour nap and then get to the grind of working on some work for work. I’ll be posting more when I wake back up hopefully if I have time to get back on before I have to leave for work again; if not, I’m sure I’ll talk to everyone later tonight!

It’s October~~~ Halloween nails ALL month!
I also have an anime con in a few weeks, I’ll be be going as Tina Belcher. I just need to get some socks and I’ll probably have to buy another wig since the one I got is incredibly thin and has crazy fall out. The pictures, they lied! Well, I’m off to bed. It’s 2:20 am and I’m sleepy. I still have to clean out Ox’s litterbox though. I should really do that in the evenings…but…procrastination?

Me and AH (Okay “I”) were talking about The Wanted and One Direction, and how I need to visit her because One Direction will be touring in Aussie, and how The Wanted Broke Up. **Sad Face***The Jelly Bean game…. Torture to play, fun to watch! LOL!
Mmm October… My older sister’s b-day’s in about a week. My b-day is in about 2 weeks…(12 days!
)… Tomorrow is Moxie’s 1 YEAR ANNIVERSERY for coming to live with us! (the day she got adopted!) October 16th is my dog’s 3 YEAR anniversary! Along with Harvest festival parties and Halloween… This is gonna be one LONG month.

Wuckers what happened to manny I missed something.
I have been pressed for time too. Hubby was in hosp for 17 days. Lots n lots of clots in both legs. Dr said that is rare. Fortunately hubby had IVC filter. Probably saved his life. Dr. did procedure Thursday to remove clots and unclog filter. Swelling went down quite a bit. Pain still there.
Is in p/t facility now. He is so weak. Legs barely hold him up. He manneuvers himself to wheelchair. Went to see him yesterday. By bus. I plan on going every other day except weekends. It is so hard being so pressed for time. Have lots to do at home. Used to doing at my leisure. Now my back hurts been raining everyday giving me major headache from barometric pressure changes. Very challenging times for both of us. Be honest I am scared he won’t be able to come home.
Will take time to strengthen his legs up to tackle these stairs. Housing called my apartment transfer is available. We decided I not move out. His dad in a dream said this is my apartment now. Before all this health problems with hubby started. Oh dear. I can’t move out now. If hubby comes home he will need someone to be with him. I don’t want to leave him alone. My choice. His too but yes my choice as well.
I asked Fouad if he want downstairs apartment. He said no. He was very healthy walked all over exercise. P/T wre him out Tuesday
Was staying t hosp overnite all but 2 nite a week Cotton went off his food. I then come back n forth Cotton eating good now. Since hubby in rehab I go every other day now. Still wearing me out

JR haha my two will climb onto your lap, up your chest and all over you to get a craisin if you get near them with the bag. They’ll even dig/bite at your hands to get you to open up once you take a couple out of the bag, cause they can’t wait. It’s dangerous to have a bag of treats around rabbits.

Do your bunnies ever grab the treat bag out of your hand and run with it? I learned really fast not to let them get near the bag!Our previous bunny once grabbed the hay bag and ran with it like it was something special. Seems his standards were pretty low.
He actually tried to drag it underneath the couch!

As to treat stealing I serve the Craisins from a little plastic container to keep them fresh. Pepper got tired of waiting for her turn and managed to dislodged the box from my hand and fling it across the play pen showering every bun with Craisins.

Wait wait wait! Now it was TL’s boyfriend that did not like the name Manny. TL liked the name. She only pretended to name him Tucker because of the bf. Now they are working things out, so I think the bf should agree that Manny is his true name. You know, as part of the compromise process as they work on their relationship.

We took sapphire to the vets to make sure he’d healed up after his neuter and he’s fine
We tried putting him and midnight together tonight and it ended kinda badly, they were getting on fine then BAM! Fur everywhere. I managed to split them up but since I wasn’t prepared I’ve now got a bite on my knuckle and a pretty nasty bite on my wrist
Dam midnight! I now have a very numb wrist thanks to adrenaline lol! Any tips for re-bonding them? -
We’ve not tried much yet moxie, we’ve been keeping them separate so that sapphire could heal and only just tried tonight. We’re going to try the bathtub bonding thing first (hopefully tomorrow) but theyve had fights before so I think it’ll be hard to re bond them so I’m just looking for tips

Just got home from grocery shopping LBJ (have I mentioned I despise grocery shopping?) and it’s just after 4pm here. I hate that we are all on different time zones.
Oh, and I should add that when Henry sneaks the dog food, he only pinches a small piece of dry food. And even then, I catch him 99% of the time – I have the dog food located where I can see it from every direction. Do you know how dumb he is??? He still tries to sneak past me in ‘plain sight’!
And if I’m not quick enough and he grabs one, I chase him. Do you know how dumb ‘I’ look chasing after a bunny and pulling a piece of dog food from his mouth??? Sigh….. 
That’s why I don’t think he’s ever become sick from it – he gets such a small amount if ever he’s able to swallow it. COKE?
Now, that’s a different story….. he had a whole can to himself 
over many days (we think?) before we discovered it.

Ha ha, If the TV goes out I *can* survive. As long as we still have Wi-fi and I can watch netflix.
If the computer went out? That means we have no Wi-fi for tablets, netflix, ect so NO computer at all. That’s when it’s horrible. I’m trying to get as much internet use I can, instead of packing right now… Meh! -
Just got back from my weekly bunny salad shopping. I always ask the produce dept employee to bring out crate of green leaf lettuce so I don’t just clear the shelf (and so I get the freshest stuff). It was a new guy, and after he brings it out I’m waiting for the “are you having a party” question followed by the blank stare when I tell him its for my bunnies . . . instead, this guy whips out a pic of his lionhead! There is still hope for this world!
That is the coolest JR! Yay bunnies! I actually really wish that would happen to me….I would end up staying in the store forever talking with the guy!

I’ve baked a pumpkin and it turned out like squash… Are we not supposed to do that lol? Everybody who ate it is still alive…Besides Uncle Bob, but he had seconds… o.O Okay I’m joking! I DON’T HAVE AN UNCLE BOB, and NOBODY died who ate it…. It was just a joke, don’t hate on me.

If I asked family members, they would just say I’m good because they’re family, and all of my friends are AMAZING, so I definately can’t ask them! I did ask my sister today if I ever tried out on like X-factor, America’s got talent ect. (which I never will! I’m too terrified, and getting the money ect. (and needing talent) if she think I’d pass. I told her to be completely honest and not to spare my feelings. She said no… I still love to sing though. -
I don’t think I’m going to get another chance to get on the computer after this so I’m saying my good-byes now.
I’ll be back on regularly in a couple weeks (hopefully).

Lots of progress with bonding today! Last night started off with fighting and ended with each bun lying at opposite ends of the bath ha ha! (And sapphire stomping his feet because midnight wouldn’t groom him)
Today’s session had cuddles, eating veggies, flops, sapphire grooming midnight (and a little bit of foot stomping as he wouldn’t return the favour lol). At the end sapphire started mounting midnight A LOT, we didn’t interfere as he was just asserting his dominance but he was getting a bit rough about it (yanking out his fur and face mounting) and midnight was getting slightly agitated and very a bit nervous.
Any tips to get midnight to groom sapphire back? I know he may never do it but it would be nice
Is sapphires foot stomping just him getting frustrated with midnight not grooming him?
What should we do about the mounting, should we let him do it even if its stressing midnight out?Gah so confusing!

You just made me giggle thinking about Henry and his banana treat JR…..
When the hubby gets home from work around 11 at night, the dog’s AND Henry run up to him – Henry actually climbs his leg. He gives them all a treat when he gets home at night, the dog’s a smacko (dog treat), and Henry a bit of banana.
The other night, the hubby didn’t have any banana’s left and poor Henry was left hanging off the hubby’s leg wondering where his treat was??? Luckily the hubby has apples as a back up. He had to wait for the hubby to slice it, but Henry didn’t miss out! Lol!Edit to ADD – When I say Henry climbs the hubby’s leg, I mean with his 2 front paw’s up to his knee, ha ha ha! Don’t want anyone to think I’m suggesting he climbs my hubby with all four paw’s like on a tree – though that would be fun to see…..
and for banana I sometimes wonder if Henry would do that???

I remember when it would sit empty for days and I’d be talking to myself!
We got back from San Jose really late last night & we had such a great time! We went to San Francisco for the day on Friday and got to see the Golden Gate Bridge then we ate some great food – we tried an Afghan place for lunch which was AMAZING & then we went to a restaurant called Aziza that has a Michelin star! (The boyfriend and I are obsessed w/ visiting Michelin starred restaurants!) The food was fabulous and we did the tasting menu so I tried an oyster for the first time and found out that I do like squab wings but do not like squab breast!
Interesting because I feel the same way about duck! If anyone is interested in pictures of the food – let me know and I will post them! I didn’t want to post the 14 pictures unless one of you was actually interested!
ALSO, another great round of news. I applied for a position w/in a department that does the same thing as mine however with different accounts last Monday. Last Friday (the one before this past one) I interviewed for the position and Friday while we were on vacation (it was actually 6:30AM in the morning in CA when they called me!) they called and offered me the position! I accepted so I have been promoted again which makes me incredibly happy! I have really come to love working in insurance (specifically workers’ compensation). I really hope to excel here and build a career that I love. Some of you probably even remember when I first applied and had the interview for this job! But due to this, I had to call & tell my current supervisor by phone rather than in person like I wanted to since I was on vacation and you know how word travels in an office setting (we are all on the same floor). She was not happy & not very nice about it either. When transferring departments in our company, your current manager can opt to keep you for 4 weeks instead of the normal 2 weeks and of course she did so I won’t be starting my new position until Nov 3rd. It seems so far away but I’m soooooo incredibly excited! I’m nervous to go into work tomorrow though. My supervisor has been really tough to deal with lately and I’m a little worried she will make the last month coming hell. I’ll let you all know how it goes!
In OTHER news, WUCKERS has become very territorial in my bedroom so tonight the poor little “manny” got moved out into the living room in an x-pen instead of having free roam of the bedroom anymore. He bit my boyfriend very hard (he has a scar now) a few weeks ago when he was watching him and my boyfriend walked into the room and tonight he lunged, growled, and thumped at me when I came in. He darted out under the bed at my feet too. I’m really thinking hard about starting to try and bond him in w/ the Tans & Nora… I’m just worried about giving the time to actually do it. Y’all know how I am w/ my marathon bonding!

I am telling you now TL that Manny is Henry’s twin! (sorry about that…. LOL!). He is brown with the grey ends, especially his ears – I had to look twice at your photo, I thought it was Henry! This photo isn’t very good (none of mine are
) but can you sorta of see his colouring? So pleased you had the best time away…. we had takeaway fish and chips for dinner last night, and I thought it was yum till I read your post, ha ha ha! I wish we could get out more to try different foods. Maybe one day???

That’s why I am SO hesitant to call a repair man LBJ. Do you know how many times I called one (remember, I am old and have had LOT’S of experience – bugga!), only to have him tell me it’s not worth repairing and to buy a new one! And I still have to pay him his fee for telling me that! DOH! So it costs me a new appliance PLUS a service fee!
OR!!! We can fix it with a new part, but you have to wait weeks/months for the part to come in – that defeats the purpose of having the appliance if it’s NOT available for you to use.
In the next breath… we paid a lot of money for a better quality BOSCH (compared to cheaper brands we bought in the past) when we bought this current dishwasher thinking it would last….. won’t make that mistake again! I told the hubby to have a look at it and if he can’t fix it himself by next weekend guess what we are doing next Sunday??? And I’ll go back to buying a cheaper brand, so if and when it breaks I won’t feel so bad throwing it and replacing it. I hate appliances as much as JR hates nail polish on her bunnies new floors!
By the way, this dishwasher is only 3 years old…… so ANGRY! and being a BOSCH, why I considered a repairman – but I’m not game!I bet I’ll be posting next Sunday that I have a new dishwasher…..

Tomorrow we drive to Richmond for Bonnie’s spay. Long day ahead of us!
I had to schedule with these people way in advance, you call and leave your info and they call you back to schedule. I had to guesstimate when I thought she’d be ready to spay, going by what I had read on when they are fully grown. So when they called, we scheduled Clyde, and then hers about 5 weeks later. Clyde started spraying a little a few days prior to his neuter, and now we have Bonnie doing her first circle-dance-of-love with poor Bandit the day before hers. She’s been honking and thumping at him all night.

Andi, I hate it when large appliances go klapoot! It’s so expensive. Last year (during Winter, luckily) our fridge died out and it would’ve cost us $800-$900 just to repair it! Even then, the guy said it would probably die again within a couple years. We ended up just buying a brand new one. The repair guy also said that most large appliances these day usually have a max lifespan of 10 years, if that. I believe him!

BrunosMama, Luca’s got reverse pants. Hehe. Nice face! I’m glad he’s gotten relief from those mats though. I need to see if my vet can help me out with some of Ox’s mats. Stubborn Ox doesn’t seem to realize he’s a long-haired breed and that brushing is not optional. The only brush he’ll let me use on him sans tantrum is a darn hair bean. Which if fine, I suppose. I just have to keep him trimmed short.
I really should get a video of him having a tantrum though! Growling, boxing, lunging, biting, brushes and combs flying everywhere! As soon as I give up he flops down and gives me the most satisfied look. Hmmph. Silverpaws, you should have taken a pic of the fabulous bunny!
Alright, good news! My corneal abrasion has healed. Woo. Bad news? I now have some sort of sickness. Bleh. I managed to force down a banana and a packet of almond butter, but of course, I had to share my nanner with the crazy bun boy who was climbing all over to me to get to it, AND I had to share my almond butter with Tribble dog as well. Darn scroungers.

Took Annie, Potus and Butternut to visit their “grandma” lol. Which is nice, cause mom lives in the downstairs of the house.
She fell in love with Potus ( not that she has favourites lol) So, I was wondering, has anyone had to take one bun to the vet, so they bring their bonded bunny along for moral support? I did this with Bruno and Harley once. The vet was cool about it and thought it was cute. Harley just stayed in the basket while Bru had her check up. I was thinking about it tonight because Bru has had the sneezies so the vet popped into mind. We see a different vet now, so I hope he’s cool with a tag along lol. Am I weird for doing this?

Aww, that’s awesome JR! I bet you were having so much fun, you didn’t realize a year had already passed.
BM – Not weird. I’ve taken Leopold along with Wooly for moral support. The vet doesn’t mind. But I think she loves them both.
Leopold would just sit in the carrier while Wooly was being looked at. No big deal. Some people recommend this to prevent a conflict following the return of the bunny that needed to go to the vet. Sometimes they smell funny (like the vet) and their friend doesn’t recognize them. I have never had that problem with my two, but they have always been an easy going pair. -

Does anybody know of any “high” quality laptops for very cheap? (under $500, and the cheaper the better!) We should be getting internet by the beginning of November at the latest, but it always seems like somebody is on it when we have it, so I’d like to buy a personal laptop just for me, and here are the needs:
It needs to be able to surf the internet and BB quickly,
It needs to be able to let me watch music videos ect. on Youtube,
I need to be able to watch Netflix,
and basics ect.

I wouldn’t really know of any laptops over wherever you live Moxie but it usually tends to be your internet speed that let’s you surf the web etc quickly rather than the laptop. The laptop does obviously come into it but its mainly internet speed etc
I’d say just look at laptops in your price range and look at the reviews on them

Thanks, guys. I am going to check out the other humane society sites this weekend to check out their buns. I usually go to the one that’s like 5 minutes away, but there are like 4 within an hour. I am especially excited to see this fella, who is sooo cute in his pictures and a little older and only 3 lbs! Nice and tiny.
I think big bunnies are gorgeous, just not what I want in my pet buns.
I am really excited about seeing all the new bunnies. And I may yet go back and try again with Penelope because I too feel bad for him, I think he has been there for a while. There aren’t a ton of people looking to adopt bunnies, and I know the humane society has a pretty slow turnover. I wish I could just take all the buns!!
Moxie, if you just want a laptop for online stuff for cheap, you could look into getting a Chromebook.

When we got Potus and Annie, the shelter kept saying that Annie was aggressive and that she had been there several months. It’s a kill shelter, so it made me worry for her. It’s true, she can be a total spaz lol but I feel like we have the patience to help her where as other families would just take her back. I have a soft spot for troubled/crazy animals lol I feel like they fit in well here

Nora – I do agree w/ the others! Simba, Lacey, and Tucker were all considered TERRIBLE rabbits at the shelter. Bit, lunged, growled – all because of stress. When I brought them home, they were totally different bunnies. All three are actually BIG time snugglers. Simba was going to be euthanized and was pulled from the shelter when he was listed on the euthanasia list – incredibly sad because he’s actually the sweetest rabbit ever and loves to give kisses! But I do understand about needing to “connect” with a rabbit so I do wish you continued luck w/ finding a new bun. Also, sidenote: be very careful to find one simply on good behavior towards YOU when it comes to bonding. My sweetest rabbits to me have actually been the biggest terrors to bond. How they interact w/ you is in absolutely no way reflective of how they will interact w/ another rabbit. So do NOT get your hopes up in that aspect. Have you thought about bunny dating instead? If your biggest concern is how they will bond, it’s definitely the best way to get a positive start from the beginning
You know, I actually had someone say that they don’t actually make appliances like they used to anymore when it comes to lasting BUT I don’t think the product is the actual problem…I think it’s because our appliances have evolved to have tons of nifty gadgets and dohickeys and THOSE small components are usually the problems! (at least in my experience!)
I have so much to do this weekend and I’m DREADING it. I have to get caught up on my homework from my two classes and I just started a scuba diving certification course. I’m doing the online portion and then I have to meet at their facilities to do the pool portion and open water dive portion before it gets too cold so I’m scrunched into having to finish the online portion this weekend so I can ensure I get it completed before our trip to Hawaii and I’m not sure how long they continue to do the open water dives for certification since it’s starting to get cold! I was also thinking about starting to bond Tucker to the Tans and Nora. OH MAN. LOL. I want my large group back again – all 7 together – but we have decided to keep Simba & Lacey separate so they can have continued access to hanging out on the bed with us
Work has been so odd. Not stressful at all work wise for me but the atmosphere leaves something to be desired since everyone (managers and supervisors included) have been giving me the cold shoulder. Today was the first day my supervisor approached me and actually apologized to me for seeming so mad – she said she’s not mad and she wants the best for me but that she is very stressed now and so it’s all from that. She did say if she knew I had even applied she would have offered me the position we had open in our department which would have been the same promotion. Once they make an offer, another department can’t make a counter offer so she can’t even offer me that position w/ higher pay or anything. But I’m happy, I’m glad it worked out this way because I’m really excited to work for the group I’m going to be transferring too!!

I got a new bunny today!!!
He is SUPER cute and seems to be settling in quite well. He was just neutered last week, so not really introducing him and Pippin yet. I can’t wait for them to be cuddle buddies but I know trying to rush things is not going to help! And now to go salad shopping. Sigh. It never ends!!

I am having so much fun with a new bun around! Today I let him out for a couple hours to start exploring the apartment. And explore he did! He is quite the curious bunny and managed to wedge himself into a few holes that Pippin never has. Merry is such a sweetheart, he is already quite comfortable with me. I was sitting on the floor as he was running around and when I went to rub his nose, he immediately just flopped down and let me pet him and even brush him. (its not an actual worm dont worry! Its just a skin infection on my arm and its really minor but still, EW!)

I believe you can change your avatar when you go to your profile (link at top of page). When you get to your profile, there should be a link above your generic avatar on the left that says edit avatar. Hopefully that helps you.

HELLOOOOO EVERYONE
I know I’ve been away for a few weeks (sorry about that, term has just started again!) and I will try and be a bit more active again, but for today I am just popping by to tell everyone that the bunnies (and I) are on TV tonight!

Oooo Merry is a CUDDLE BUN!! He hopped up on the couch today, settled down next to me, then got onto my lap and actually lay down there for 15-20 minutes. Pippin will climb all over me (usually in hopes of finding a raisin) but won’t sit still on my lap for more than a few seconds, so this was a nice surprise! Plus, Merry covered my arms (and, ticklishly, one toe) in kisses! 5 months Pippin has been here and not a single kiss… okay so maybe Merry just needs to taste everything (so far I’ve seen him lick my boots, my couch, me, my shirt, my teddy bear, a pillow, and who knows what else when I wasn’t watching), but it still made my heart melt!
Maybe I’ll never bond him and Pippin so I don’t have to share! Hehe
Also, maybe I’ll stop blabbering about Merry soon!

I trimmed Moxie’s nails today, but I’m having trouble getting to that 5th claw that’s almost like a thumb? Dew claw? Well whatever it is it really doesn’t want to be clipped! Her nails are black so I always find it a pain to trim them. Does anybody have a good rule of thumb for how long they should be? like 1/2 an inch, an inch ect. Thanks for the help.
I’m going to a halloween party/fall bash and they are having a costume contest. Funny and silly gets extra points. At walmart they just started carrying these big fluffy onesies for adults that are animal themed. They look just like a full costume but they are fluffy. I might just buy one of those and call it good lol. So I was thinking about either getting either the bunny one or the zebra one… But then I thought, hey! Why don’t I just buy myself a fluffy new robe and dress up like an old lady? As you can tell, I’m not trying too hard this year. Last year I had on a poodle skirt, bright red lipstick, and I did my hair up in one of those huge beehive hair styles. I’m probably just gonna look some fun and simple homemade costume. I’m a cheap and don’t think I should buy a costume I’m really only going to wear once or twice?
But anyway, I’m enjoying catching up on some of the stuff I’ve missed on here. Anything big I missed and should know about?

LMAO, you guys make me feel like I’m not crazy for always being soo tired. =P Sometimes I just feel lazy.
I forgot to answer everyone before – we are going to Oahu when we go to Hawaii. We both tried to get off 2 weeks from work so we could do all three but that was near impossible and in the middle of a transition so I actually had to get my vacation request accepted by TWO different sets of supervisors/managers and my first 1 denied it because we are down so many people. Doesn’t matter since now I’ll be on the other dept by the time vacation comes but we already had the flights booked by that time so we decided to just leave it.
LBJ – I’m trying really hard to get my scuba certification because we are going with my boyfriends best friend and his girlfriend (for half the trip) and they are all scuba certified so I want to be able to go down w/ them all! And the boyfriend offered to pay for the course and everything so I should accept. They money situation seeems so weird right now though because we are doing things together so much that my budget doesnt really allow for so he’s kind of picking up the slack but I hate it because I just don’t make as much as him. Not even close actually. Oh well I suppose.
Also, I ended up sleeping instead and waking up at 3:30 (I have to start getting ready for work at 5:30 so I could get some things accomplished). Yeah…. first I couldn’t get myself up… and now I’m on BB. Facepalm. At least I got some sleep? =P Hahahahahahah.
Okay, I’m off to get as much done before I have to start getting ready and leaving for work so ttyl! <3

So I finally began to type it all up… a lot of information. Got the “Aw, Snap!” message after typing a freaking novel as a new post in Bonding Section. -sigh-

We have every odd gadget ever advertised on tv, including the useless self-winding garden hoses and weird little fan things you put in a car window to cool your car in the summer (all of our cars have A/C). The only thing we don’t have is the electric bug zapper which actually would be kindof cool since the mosquitos get bad her in the Summer.JR, do you have the Sticky Buddy? If you don’t want it I’ll take it off your hands…
We’ve been looking all over for the dang thing.It’s sweet that your mother tries to make your life better, it’s the thought that counts, right?

I dunno JR, I can be pretty blunt. Lawmakers tend to cover their ears and sing “la la la” when someone tries to point out they lack critical thinking skills.
The really sad thing about it all is that since it is the only place left on the entire PLANET where they are illegal to keep as pets, there just isn’t enough outrage (in numbers) to get things moving. Having pet stores saying it would be great for the economy can be easily dismissed by policy-makers. “They’d say anything to make a profit.”
There needs to be a dialogue with veterinarians and biologists explaining de-sexing with these politicians. There needs to be a plan of action showing how to go about ensuring that rabbits ARE de-sexed, such as registration or licensing to own. They will argue that people will still own rabbits and there will be people who won’t do what they are supposed to do with registering and neutering, AND THEY WILL BE RIGHT, you will always find those irresponsible people who make it harder for everyone else. BUT THAT IS ALREADY HAPPENING.
Give people an available option, one that works for both sides of the argument, and they will get better results. Have the pet stores work with rescues, offer rabbits with an adoption fee. Registration data base to keep up with the rabbits to ensure they are being neutered. Application process to own…
I dunno… things can be done I am sure, but someone else has to do the work. People against it surely aren’t going to go out of their way to find a solution. I know someone that lives there and they are against the law changing. She was spewing the same crap about how much damage they do blah blah. We had a little debate about it (of course) and she pretty much doesn’t think the risk of allowing them as pets, due to people not doing what they are supposed to be doing with neutering, is worth having them destroy the agricultural lands. Sadly, OTHER people not doing what they should be doing COULD be a problem. Do I think it would be enough of a problem to continue the upholding of this law? No. But I do think that extreme measures, in comparison with the rest of the world, would need to be taken to make a change in the law. One that would appease the politicians, as well as ease the minds of other citizens that believe as my friend does.

You are right LEL. Like reaching out to all the House Rabbit Societies and Rescues. Just brainstorming a bit how to get that rolling.. thinking something like a QLD organization for legalization that forms a mission of education and awareness. Facebook page creation, YouTube Videos made, linked with every House Rabbit Society and Group to be found, with requests to share with everyone. A short promotional video with cliff note version of information to forward to every single media outlet that does personal interest stories. That will get the masses at least aware.I know there have been petitions… but I don’t know the details of how it was formed, who formed it, how it was distributed… how many people signed.. What I DO know is, it needs to be stream-lined so it can ideally be coming from ONE organization. That way an accurate count of opinions on the matter can be seen. That organization ideally would be able to put together a proposal, or have a few people to collaborate on one, that shoots down out-dated info, providing solutions that would prevent any negatives that are brought up, with opinions from advocates in fields that would carry weight. Famous people that own buns would be good too. People believe actors more than scientists.
This is great, MM. I know there is a legalize pet rabbits Facebook page already, but like you said, it is not connected to anything else that I know of. Great page, it is run by Roberta’s friend I believe. I think forming that kind of organization, except on a global scale, would be really effective. If we could get a large group of BB members, vets, rescuers, etc, we could involve a large amount of rescues and HRS chapters. I love the idea you have with the personal interest stories.
If we are serious with this prospect, I think we should start a separate thread for this. Roberta and Andi know most about what would be best, so we should talk with them more before deciding on anything.

I think we need to start before then as we want it to gain some momentum by the time a new government sits, or atleast have enough of a force that the current government is starting to look like a pack of geese and decides it might be a good fluffy animal story to win back some voters.I agree. Things like this take a while to get around so I think starting now is the most best idea. I vote we start with education like Andi said, and once we have people, start to build up towards actually making them legal. I guess I was trying to be proactive today (actually, I was just avoiding laundry) so I started a few social media accounts under QLDPetRabbits. I don’t know if you guys want to do anything with those or not, but like I said, I wanted to feel like I was being productive, when really, I was avoiding housework…

Tan, I had the same problem with the shot!! Ugh it was horrible. Switched back to pills. They’ve been working for me for 8 years or so! Although I am very careful because my nephew is a pill baby, oops! I’ve thought about switching to Mirena but I’m too chicken to go through with the placement.

Pippin and Merry had their first date today. I think it went pretty well, all things considered!
How is it already 8 PM? Sigh. I’ve been trying to cook more at home, which is good, but it takes up so much of my evening! By the time I get home from work, exercise, shower, cook dinner, eat…not to mention caring for bunnies! Makes it harder to find time to work on my writing too, which is frustrating. I suppose this is why we have weekends!!

Many years ago, Before my parents had me and my siblings, they lived in town in a little apartment. They lived like right across a street from a Chinese resuraunt. Well my Dad loved to cook BBQ on the porch and the people from the resturaunt would get SOO mad, because everybody could smell the delicious BBQ in the Chinese resturaunt. LOL. The other day me and my friends were playing a card game, and I like to sit next to the people who wont make me lose by making me add cards, skipping me ect. (
) so I sit down next to my friend (a guy). And I say “You like me right?” (I meant You “like” me, like as a person.) and he’s like. “Uhhhh No…” and then I realize how that came out wrong and I’m like “I didn’t mean it that way!” How do I get myself into these awkward situations? LOL -
StickerBunny— I love parrots but I am nervous of holding the “bigger” ones. (pretty much parrots that are any bigger than a large conure, small goffin cockatoo(?), although if they are mean or temper-mental nothing bigger than a budgie!
) I had a really weird dream last night, there were 15 loose bunnies in the back yard, they were all abandoned. There was 2 sets of parents and the rest were the babies. They were SOO adorable! I had a fluffy pink blanket and was throwing it over them to catch them. I finally caught them all after like half an hour. And in my dream I was like “I can’t wait to get onto BB and tell everybody I caught 15 abandoned Bunnies in my backyard and I’m going to keep them all!”
Maybe my subconscious wants more buns! lol -
Just saw the video Roberta posted… AH I’m having second thoughts about visiting you, I honestly BARELY made it through the pics of the spiders, then they go to jellyfish sting marks? I couldn’t finish the video…(Especially not at the public library, I don’t want people to think I’m weird or anything!

I am seriously tired of the argument over the smell of the buns. I can wash their room in vinegar , scrub the boxes and such and a few hours later “the house stinks” … Now he wants me to totally dump the litter boxes every other day, of all litter because “rabbit feces stinks” …. Really? And if I don’t dump them that often he says his clothes will permanently smell like rabbit butt. Uhm. Yeah…OK… Seven rooms and a hallway smell from altered rabbits one day of litter box use with wood absorbing the mess. And clothing all the way across the house (as far way from their room as you get) will forever smell of litter box. Even though I could barely smell it when I opened two doors to get into their room , let alone all the way across the house. And they are even using their boxes now 100% , so it actually smells better than usual (urine straight on floor did smell a bit).
I kinda regret getting pets with him. And he wants a dog… Ha. He would probably want to perfume it and complain about dog hair on his clothes.
New modem sounds exciting, AH

Stickerbunny: I agree, your partner won’t be happy with a Rottweiler. They need a lot of exercise, outside, everyday, which means getting dirty. Unless he plans on taking it to the groomer daily, he will have a smelly dog on his hands.
Oscar is giving me some trouble today. I just opened a brand new bag of Oxbow food and he won’t touch it! He attacked it as usual, but after a couple of bites he turned his nose up at it. I even saw him spit one out!
Now I’m worried there’s something wrong with it. Did they change anything about their formula? Has this happened to anyone else? -
So I was looking up those bad air sponges and … this is their description: Neutralizes odors from pets, mildew, mold, urine, sewer gas, cleaning solvents, latex and oil paint fumes, formaldehyde, ammonia, and even human decay o.O lol
They are only $10, so maybe next paycheck I will grab a few and see how they work.

I think my buns prefer the crunchier hay, they always seem to find the nice big pieces in their hay! When I have to get the Kaytee hay at the pet store (if I don’t make it to the bunny supply store, which is only open on Sat/Sun), they seem to like it more! That is pure Timothy hay while the boxes I get at the bunny supply store are more of a mix with orchard grass.

They were hand feeding my guinea pigs and giving Sapphire treats (midnight wasn’t keen). They didn’t chase any of the pets or try to snatch them up or anything! (they’re 3 and 5 years old)
I knew they wouldn’t be horrid to the animals but I’m genuinely surprised at how amazing they were Sorry for rambling on.. I’m just very proud right now

AndHenry: Well it looks like Henry and Oscar are not just equally mean, but also picky! I’m glad that Henry decided to eat the hay anyways, hopefully you’ll get a better bag next time.
I told Oscar how Henry ate his “gross” hay, and it seemed to encourage him to eat his food.
He’s such a pig, after an hour he just didn’t care about the taste anymore! He ate it so fast he actually choked a little bit. I gotta read up on bunny CPR… Stickerbunny: Thanks, you’re probably right, it might just be stale. I’m just happy he’s eating it now.
Nora: Congrats on your successful bonding! Sounds like they will be friends in no time! Also, I saw the pictures of Merry hanging out on the couch with you, I’m jealous! What a sweet bunny you got there.

I gave away half my wardrobe a few weeks ago (was amazed how much of it I didn’t wear!) so now all I have is half a closet and a 6-drawer dresser
I love clothes. And shoes. and accessories but they have to be fairly comfortable I so wear my pjs all day sometimes (since I’m home schooled I can do that guilt free! ) But I usually at least wear jeans and a sweater -
I tend to go through phases with getting clothes. It seems to be related to my current self esteem level lol. But I usually do a clothing purge a couple times a year. I actually just ordered some clothes online from Old Navy. I have never bought many clothes online, but I shop in their stores sometimes. I usually wear jeans and t-shirts/knit shirts. I have some cute shirts for going out, but I’m past the point of sacrificing comfort for style. I guess I’m getting old? Lol I’ve had to get rid of shoes lately. I’ve been having trouble with my ankle/ foot and a physical therapist said get some support! I’m aaalways on the lookout for cute and supportive, but it’s hard to find in a good price lol I splurged on some comfy sandals this summer. But otherwise I have a pair of sneakers and a pair of flat boots. Pretty boring lol I’m the worst with my hair. I get it cut once a year or so. I did recently cut in some bangs, which looks better. I don’t wear makeup often, even though I own a bunch. I’m pretty low maintenance lol which my husband is ok with.

Lucky you getting $50 a week MK! , I volunteer at a cat shelter so no money for me! It doesnt really bother me too much though, although it would’ve nice to have money to get the pets nice stuff often. I’m super low maintenance! Whenever I’m not at school I just lounge about in my PJ’s procrastinating haha!
I usually just shove my hair up into a bobble when Its looking rubbish rather than styling it etc..ugh, effort!!
I never wear makeup other than a little bit of mascara and eyeshadow etc on special occasions, again.. Effort!You could steal me AH! Ha ha ha!

JR and Flopsie – Yeah, I got referred to a clinical psycholgist a while back because of a really bad depressive spell (won’t go into details). I first had to see someone so they could determine who’d be the best person for me if that makes sense? My that guy was horrible 🙁 But my psychologist is so lovely 🙂
After all of the nasty sad stuff was out of the way (for the most part anyway) we moved on to social anxiety etc and I was diagnosed with it pretty bad.
Since she’d gotten to know me quite well she noticed quite a few Aspergers/ASD traits in me and gave me the choice to be assessed and such. The only problem was, where she’s based is over an hours car journey away and I was missing a lot of school to see her so I’ve been moved to the unit in my town.. Just as the only worker here has gone on leave for 6 weeks -_-
We shall see how it turns out 🙂If it turns out I do have it which is quite likely , it’d be great to have a diagnosis as I really want to go to uni and train to be a vet (its my dream job 🙂 ) and uni is a pretty big scary place

I haven’t been around much lately, missed you guys, no idea what’s really happening with everyone!. My sis-in-law is just got admitted to an in-patient program for 4 weeks. She’s been pretty bad off lately and since she moved in with us, we’ve been riding her about getting her crap together. She seems much better since her initial admission for other health issues and seems to be much higher in spirits, so we’ve got our fingers crossed that she’ll continue in a positive direction. I feel kinda guilty for being happy to have a month off from the extra person living here.
Bumpy is going through a molt and hubby decided to vacuum around the pens because it was looking like a barn in here. He also vacuumed inside Bumpy’s pen. Clyde was having floortime, so he just stuck the vacuum hose into Bumpy’s pen while Bumpy his in his hideybox. Now this isn’t the first time he’s done this, both while he was inside the pen and running around, but about 2 hours later he told me Bumpy was acting funny. So I go to look and he’s trying to give him a raisin. Bumpy would hop in circles in the same corner that his hideybox is in, in a weird way. I took a raisin and called Bumpy, he stretched forward to sniff, turned a few circles and nothing more. I knew something was wrong right away. Bumpy NEVER would not eat a raisin unless something was wrong. So, of course, I did the most logical thing, I started to cry. LOL In my defense (!!! LOL) I think I’m pmsing, I’ve been crying at EVERYTHING the last 3 days. So I put Clyde away, he wasn’t happy with his shortened time, and opened Bumpy’s door. Normally he’d pop right out and run over to Bonnie’s pen, but I had to shoo him out. I could tell by the way he was sitting that he wasn’t comfortable, so I thought maybe he had gas. Grabbed a very unhappy Bumpy up and with much struggle and aggravation, managed to get some gas drops into him. I was handsomely rewarded with a loud thump and he ran off. Refreshed the litterboxes so I could make sure I would be able to tell if he was pooping, huge handful of hay and waited. Watched him for about an hour, cried a few more tears, 2 hours after giving him the drops, he was sitting in his “royal” pooping-pose (sits up with his front feet resting on the edge of the box). Then observed him eating hay. 4 hrs later, string-of-poop-pearls! I told hubby that we HAD to groom him, because this was TOO scary. Bumpy isn’t pleased… AT ALL. -sigh- He made it over the hump, eating well, acting normal. I was really scared.
On a lighter note, Bonnie’s nickname “Bonnie Bunny” has now been replaced with “No Bonnie!” She’s a menace. Sorry for the book!

My whole day has been made! I saw Bruno binky tonight! It’s the first real binky I have seen her make in almost 2 years. She and Harley have been destroying their cage all day, but she took a break from digging out the litter box to pop straight in the air and do a 180 turn! I guess destruction makes her happy
I know the binky free period seems long, but I know she’s happy. She’s a pretty lazy bun and expresses her contentment in belly flops and little half standing shaky binks.

Anyone got any tips on stopping bunnies from destroying lino?? My two have their own shed which has lino on the floor, its duct taped down but they just bite through the tape and eat the lino???!! Grr 🙁

Sin – Well, if you share finances (or have your own money) and he just buys whatever he wants… I would just buy what I wanted and say “Well, you never asked me about your last big purchase”…
AH – Well, I am a lot like your hubby, probably. $500 on a new tech toy? OK! New any appliance in the house that is still functional? It’s working, why replace what’s not broken. lol Our washer and dryer came from a used appliance store, little over $100 (together) and at least the dryer looks like it’s at least 30 years old. But, it’s your house too, so you should be able to get whatever you find to be a toy too.
Dam this time difference between countries!
