Where do ya’ll buy it? Should I look at feed places, or do any pet retailers carry it?

The San Diego HRS sells it, or you can contact any local horse feed store. Oat hay is sold in some petstores, but they sell in small quanities and about 10-15x the price than what you can get from SDHRS or horse feed stores. It is also less fresh.

I get oat hay by the bale at a feed store, but Oxbow also sells it in packages that you can get at a store.  San Diego HRS sells a hay "salad" that may contain some, and they might sell straight oat hay too.

My oat hay actually comes from a feed store in Ramona, San Diego! My mom lives out there and she brings it out to me about once every couple months – everyone that I work in rescue with loves it so much they start reserving bales a month before my mom brings it a bail is only something like 12-16 dollars, and when I just had one bunny it lasted me like 6 months! I kept it dry in my garage so it didn’t go bad.

The oat hay we get here is from Oxbow. Their website has a list of retailers, that’s how we found the pet store. But I had to call several stores on the list to confirm what stock they carried. Sometimes, a store will only carry the pellets and not the hay.

i have now added a third point to my signature for future threads since everyone seems to be asking about oat hay
