Yeah, so apparently it is November already and for some reason that wasn’t registering with me.

Here is what I wrote in the October Chat :

*sigh* I made the huge mistake of walking into the new Forever 21. I had been in one before, but this is a new one that opened up really close to me. OMG, that store is so ridiculously overwhelming. It seems like there is no rhyme or reason to the way they arrange things in the store. It is really difficult to just wander around and look. It is like sensory overload. Does anyone else have that problem?

I only feel overwhelmed when there are just sooooo many clothes. But that’s just because I don’t know where to start or anything. Like Ross, yeah I can’t go there. Just racks and racks of clothes lol but small stores that have a lot of clothes isn’t as overwhelming. lol

So I began this month sick. I feel like crap! And I’m still fighting it. Hopefully I get to feeling better. The buns are losing patience. When I’m feeling unwell they get zero out time because I just don’t feel like moving lol

We might move the buns into the spare bedroom in the next day or two, I’m rather excited

Oh also, we went to go see Bear today! (We gave our dog away like 6 months ago and we still do visits) anyhoo, I was really nervous because it has been 4 months since our last visit because his new parent had cancer and he was very ill for awhile. But he finally bounced back. And is declared cancer free!! Anyway, I was afraid that bear and Abbie wouldn’t remember each other but they did and I got all Teary eyed watching the reunion. We only stayed like 2 hours because I was feeling under the weather and it was like 40 mile drive home. But we planned another visit for bears birthday in 6 weeks. And next time we are going to bring Brevin along

Kbana (from other thread) – Don’t feel guilty, I like shopping in the “younger” stores too. And yes, there is a lot of repetition in that store which makes it even more confusing.

NBO – This new store is HUGE. I’ve never been in a Forever 21 this big. They have tons of clothes plus shoe, accessory, jewelry, lingerie, and plus size sections. The amount of stuff in this store is insane. I seriously did not know where to begin. I do have an easier time in the smaller stores. There is a Maurices at the mall here and I always love looking at stuff there. It is a lot easier to shop.

NBO – Aww, that sounds so sweet! Glad they remember each other. You shouldn’t be too surprised though, my dog won’t see certain people in my family for months and she doesn’t forget. Hopefully Brevin will have fun visiting next time too. =)

(It’s been a long time since I’ve been on BB but I figured some of you might like this.) My friend bought me a hoodie and had it sent to my house. It says “Yes! I really do love my rabbit as much as you love your kids!” My friends know me too well.

                (Here’s a picture.)

Lol, I love that hoodie! Do you know where your friend bought it?

I hope Brevin has a good experience when he meets Bear. And I’m glad to hear about Bear’s dad is now cancer free.

Yes! He got it from Amazon, (Link) I think there’s a t-shirt that has that on it too. I only had it three days now and I got stopped like 10 times for people to read it, I think it’s funny.

dgchandyman – My username isn’t the name of my bunnies(it would be waaaaay too long) but you should definitely be able change yours. I’ll alert the Forum Admin (BinkyBunny) and she should be able to help you change it.

Haha yeah there are a few people who are like that. I normally end up showing them pictures of the trouble buns. And they’re good! I’ve just been really distracted and had nothing new to really update with. They’ve been making a mess and living up to the name “trouble buns” well. Actually, I’m about to go clean up their latest mess.  they’re very lucky they’re cute and I love them, otherwise I wouldn’t put up with their antics.

dgchandyman, what I do is put the pics on my desktop and then drag them into my reply. It doesn’t work in quick reply though, you need to click reply and open a bigger window. Then you can click on each pic and adjust their size.

Sometimes they do, but most times, one will be working on dumping the litter boxes while the other works on pulling out all the hay from the hay rack and onto the floor, or destroying any cardboard in their reach (so there’s little pieces of cardboard all over the floor)

Well got sent home from work. I guess it was just too soon. When I was at home, laying down and resting up I had a wheezy feeling when id breathe but it never caused me issues. But at work i guess I couldn’t get enough oxygen with all the movement and my face got all tingly, my legs felt wobbly I felt like I was about to pass out and I couldn’t catch my breath. So here I am, an hour later, back home all alone sitting on my bumm watching Greys Anatomy. Hopefully tomorrow will be better

I’ve discovered how handy working in a kitchen is as a bunny owner! The amount of salad that gets thrown out because it’s not the freshest of the fresh is insane. I think I got judged a little yesterday when I ran into the room shouting “NONONONONONO!” as the head chef was about to throw away a giant tub of romaine lettuce, haha. My bunnies were pretty happy, anyway :3

I see him today but it is seriously time to find a new dr. Urg. Annabel, I would have done the same thing!! Free veggies! Yay!!!! I need to go buy some today. They just go bad so fast! I end up throwing half of them out because any odd spots freak me out. LOL.

I know, it is a pain. Fortunately my 3 buns will devour everything in no time, and I tend to buy things they can have lots of rather than the small portion stuff.

Despite Rufus being an absolute pain over the last month or so, I’ve discovered he has a use – when Ted wanders over my bed leaving a trail of poops (lovely, I know), Rufus has taken to following him and eating them…is that normal?! I thought they were only meant to eat the squishy ones, not the normal pellets. I also thought they were only meant to eat their own…

Idk how long this has been going on because I’ve been sick since the 1st and my husband has been taking care of everyone. I just fed them their lunch and he didn’t even move from his litterbox! I offered a craisin and he gladly took it but no pellets

Seriously, they were obsessed with things they really should not have been obsessed with. Like I was trying to point out frogs and all they cared about was picking up sticks and poking at the mud.

Although it’s a little late in the thread, I do shop at F21 occasionally. They’re good for cheap basics or rip offs of more expensive styles. Why bother paying $85 for a sheer (i.e. see through) shirt when I can get it for 1/8th of the price.

So while I was out of town this past weekend my roommate bought a $300-ish Dyson vacuum just to clean his 10x8ft room. He has NEVER bothered to vacuum let along mop the dining room, living room, or kitchen. Which by the way I’ve been doing for the past 1.5 yrs with a Swiffer and a reasonably priced slender vacuum. Plus he’s hiding the vacuum in his room, figures.

I teach k-6 art, so I have A LOT of kids that like to look at weird stuff. I told them there was a monster in this little door close to the cieling that snatches crayons. One month later, they are still obsessed with watching crayons they throw under my tables as “bait”. Kids are so funny.

Moogles neuter is tomorrow! >< I'm so nervous. I'm not supposed to have pets, so getting him to the car at 6:45 am is not the problem… I'm worried about Zach getting him back in without being seen. And I'm also worried about all the other stuff that can go wrong with neuters. The buns visit my brother's house when the bug spray guy comes and go to my parents house for holidays with me. We've actually been seen a couple times with the rabbits cage in our hands but I'm not sure why they didn't report us. Ashe thumps on the floor if she hears the ppl talking downstairs. THEY are the ones I don't want to see us lol…

But our lease is up in May so I will be free to move to the city I work in where the buns’ new vet is at. I can’t wait to let the buns race like crazy through my house without worrying about the ppl downstairs LOL (not that it really matters, they race around regardless of my worries). I really don’t care about my deposit, but I don’t want kicked out

Yeah, like I said, this was just a weird group. Normally when we find frogs, it is all over after that. The kids will be all excited and they will be trying to see who can find the most. These kids couldn’t care less.

There were 5 art openings this last year and I made sure I student taught here so they could see what I can do. My dream job is high school drawing and my old drawing teacher retires this year she always said she wanted me to take her spot, so I’m hoping I get it. I will definitely miss the kids I have this year though. But I will get them when they get to high school. I am a bit hesitant because I have to tell my principal before I apply for a transfer. She would be so mad and it would really suck if I didn’t get it and had to deal with her the next 30 years

He started pooping again and tried his best to catch up on all the food he missed during the day. I’m so glad he’s better, I was worried we would have to push his neuter appointment back if this had taken several days to resolve.

They are independent enough by that age so they are able to think more critically about things. Yet they are not quite old enough yet to develop a lot of attitude towards teachers (and adults in general). LOL My experience with 4th graders has been mostly positive. They are eager to please and they take an interest in things you’re talking about. When I have a younger group of kids, it can be really hit and miss. I have the most problems with kindergarteners because it seems very few of them have much of an attention span.

Any time I have an issue the rest of the class say its the 3 kids fault. I make sure never to single a kid out because it causes them to escalate. Or if I do, I say, “you have a choice…” I’m a first year teacher so it’s trial and error

I just get more of those when I have groups of younger kids. Like I said, very short attention spans. There are days where I have a group of younger kids and I don’t even bother going over the things I’m supposed to go over. They will be so high strung and bouncing all over the place that they wouldn’t listen to me anyway. I always feel bad when there are a couple of kids there that really want to learn stuff and I will ask them questions and they will always answer. Meanwhile everyone else is preoccupied with sticks on the ground. What is it about kids and sticks?

So I’ve been on the night shift for almost a week now and I already hate it. It’s just not for me. My husband has also been moved to nights for two weeks and it just sucks lol. I work 10pm-6am and go to bed around 7-8am and wake around 3-4pm but I’m just too tired the whole day. My internal clock is all messed up so no matter how much sleep I get, I’m always too tired to get things done that need being done. The buns haven’t had salad in a couple days because I’m just a loaf and don’t feel like lugging into town to get their veggies, the laundry has stacked up already, the dishes are piling up and I’m just too tired to really do anything. Thinking I have until Christmas on this schedule is just… Frightening. I can’t seem to adjust my internal clock to where I don’t feel like a zombie while I’m awake even when I’ve already had my 8 hours of sleep! Any tips for me? I’m really thinking of just telling my boss I can’t do overnights and to put me back on days… I feel like a zombie lol I’m just glad I’m off tonight but I don’t want to sleep and mess up my sleep schedule. Do you think my body will adjust eventually and I’ll feel more normal?

Unless you were already a night owl, the adjustment can be really rough. I would imagine your body would eventually get somewhat used to it, but probably not completely.

Kindergarten is a bit tough because we are still “training” them for procedures and stufff. BUT I love the imagination of smaller kids. Plus, I am really good at teaching them because I like to have fun. So I just act SUPER dorky (being myself) and they love it. I like 1st-3rd and 5th and 6th. I have a few stinkers in 6th but it’s okay. All my kindergartens and 4th grades annoy me a little

I taught 1st grade for the first 5 years of my career and while they are sweet, I am built for the older ones for sure! Jessie, a few bad apples can affect the entire dynamic of the class, so yes, I know what you mean! My group last year was one of the worst. After 10 years of teaching I was considering throwing in the towel! LOL. Though the best thing about that is that you only have them for a year so the torture doesn’t last forever. haha! Ideally I would like to teach HS art as well. I teach painting to adults right now at a small art studio in town and love it. But, since my experience is in K-5 I’ll probably get my feet wet there first. We shall see. I’ve been at my district since I student taught there 11 years ago so I might be ready to move on. The IL education situation is pitiful. Arts are still underfunded and getting cut from districts which is a bit scary when it comes to moving somewhere new and being low man on the totem pole. At least if I stay with my current district and the program gets cut they are obligated to put me back in the gen ed classroom due to my seniority.

Working nights?? Oh I feel for you! I could never do it. I barely have enough energy as it is! LOL I hope you get used to it soon and it gets better for you. I have some friends that are nurses and work similar shifts and they have adjusted OK. I’m sure it just takes time.

I would really love to teach HS 2D. The teacher that teaches it is retiring (she was my teacher in HS and the reason I decided to teach instead of become a vet). Getting that job has been my goal for my entire college career, SO I find out next year if it will happen. If someone else gets it, chances of me ever getting that specific school and subject are unlikely If that happens, I may do some traveling and taking some more risks. I’m fine with either outcome. My boyfriend would really like to do a teaching program in Japan, and if I don’t get the HS position, I’m considering following suit. It would be a pay cut and VERY risky for my career path, but I am pretty adaptable.

Also, Moogle is almost 100% back to normal. He is VERY hyper and constantly needing touched/rubbed/held. Also, he is trying to destroy my house, so that means when I can’t watch him, I’m having to put him away. SO if he’s not napping he’s throwing his food bowl or trying to break down the bars on his cage Right now I’m watching Ashe, so I can hear him in the other room going crazy. One positive change I am noticing is that there is ABSOLUTELY ZERO poop outside his litter box. I never minded that because it’s easy to pick up, but WOW that was fast.

TLDR: Moogle is doing great and is very energetic. There are no more poops marking his area after 2 days of being neutered (though this could probably change.)

Mwhahahaha! Well, I have seen some kids again. Like week year I had a group that contained kids that were in kindergarten the year before and now they are in first grade. They recognized me. I kind of recognized them, but I go through so many kids it is hard to keep track.

I start next month and I’m really excited to be back at work after about a year of doing the housewife routine. My new boss and I actually chatted about bunnies during the interview! LOL. It’s a nice family owned company with great benefits and pay. My best friend from childhood also works there and loves it. The only downside is it’s about a 30-40 minute drive from my house (in a different town actually).

On kids, I like when they’re just starting to express themselves. I used to “interview” my younger brother (22 years younger) just to hear his perceptions and explanations on things going on around him. Always funny and informative!

I’m coming late to teaching (I’m 30 and this is my third degree) so I’m not sure if that will make it easier or harder. So far I’ve done one lot of student teaching for five weeks and I have another five week block coming up. I’m going to be a High School teacher, teaching Society & Culture, History, Geography and English.

Congrats on the job MD! 30-40 mins is a really good commute length for listening to podcasts! There’s tonnes of great ones out there.

I thought I would show you guys what I mean. It has just thinned out so much so quickly!

I sure hope she is able to regain her beautiful coat again it’s so thinned out

Yeah her fur is still shiny and appears healthy. Just thinned out a bit but maybe it’s just losing the fur and re growing it like you said. I also know she got a huge amount of steroids too in a shot form that day and have heard hair loss is quite common with steroids too. I just miss that cotton fur she used to have on her chest and legs. It was super soft loved playing with it lol

I wasn’t able to ask today. But I did see her and she seemed better. She was talking to me at least.

Man so Abbie, my dog, used to make what we called “angry poops”. Everytime we left the house she would poop in the house. But not like a “I really have to go to the bathroom poop,” but more of a “I’m mad at you for leaving” poop because she wouldn’t leave whole poops. She would poop like one little pebble just to make me mad. I used to have a roommate that verified she did it immediately after I left because she would look out the window and as soon as I was out of sight she jumped off the couch, went to the corner of the living room and plopped out one pebble of poop and went back to my bedroom to sleep the day away until I returned. She would do this even if we walked her RIGHT before leaving and she would even poop before leaving so we always joked she had a “angry poop resovoir” somewhere lol

Anyhoo, she hasn’t left any angry poops in a good year and a half. We were able to leave her loose in the house and come home to clean floors. We figured she outgrew it or has finally became comfortable being alone. But my husband and I have both been switched to graves (10p-6am) and I came home to a angry pebble in my floor!!!!! What on earth?! Lol I guess she didn’t like having to sleep in the bed alone at night or something and was furious that BOTH my husband and I left her to sleep in bed alone last night. Looks like I’m going to have to crate her as long as we are both on grave shift.

And I KNOW she is capable of holding it. I mean this dog held her poop in for 40 hours once because the grass was too wet for her liking and didn’t want to walk in the yard to poop. So yeah, that came out of nowhere! Of course, last night was the first time she has EVER been left alone at night time so I can’t blame her for being angry/slightly frightened. Because yes, I hear dogs don’t do things out of spite, or so people like to say. But the shoe fits! I really think it’s spiteful lol

Gah she’s so cute, I love my little poop monster!

Something happened at work today on my watch. I take full responsibility for it. I feel so stupid though. I mean really, really stupid. I’m so embarrassed. I don’t think they are going to fire me or anything. But I’m still mortified and I’m afraid to go back. Like the whole time I’m thinking I’m going to have to quit because I can’t face people about what happened. Someone even texted my boss because she was at home. Well, she actually texted them about something completely unrelated and then they responded with info about what I had allowed to happen.

And I guess it’s back. She doesn’t like being left alone at night time lol

And now he is OBSESSED with sour skittles. When I opened a bag he sat there pawing my arm for one lol

She went in her sleep! She got it all over the bed, and my pillow and all over herself! She has never done this before in her entire life! She is only 5 years old she shouldn’t be showing incontinence yet! I’m so upset right now. I’m not mad but more so concerned. If she does it again, I’ll have to keep her crated at night…

I talked to the vet about Abbie and she said to bring in a sample of urine to rule out bacteria or crystals in the urine. If it comes up clean they’ll do a blood panel to analyze her kidney function and if that comes up clean she said that since Abbie was spayed too early (6months old) it could also be something called spay incontinence? I didn’t know I spayed my dog too young. I wish I had this knowledge when I took her in to get spayed! I’m starting to think that’s it the more I look up on it because she’s not acting like she as a UTI or anything. She’s acting just normal except she peed in her sleep so maybe that’s it. I guess I will find out eventually when I drop her pee off tomorrow morning to get tested.

Now I’m paranoid because of the kidney function part. I mean she did have that terrible reaction to her rabies vaccine in July. Maybe that did some kind of damage with all those meds they pumped her with to stop the reaction. And then she had that bad reaction with her heartguard in September. Gosh I think when I go in tomorrow morning with her urine I’ll just get the blood panel too to ease my worries. And she started losing her fur last month. She’s lost almost all of her fuzz on the legs and chest. I hope my puppy is okay :/

This week I worked 46 hours and next week I work 50 AT LEAST. I’m exhausted. On thanksgiving I work 11pm Thursday- 12:15pm Friday afternoon. Not looking forward to that. Trying to see if I can actually come in 4pm Thursday – 5am Friday because I have work Friday night at 10pm and I want a larger gap between shifts to recoup after a 13 hour shift. I hope I can. Argh I also work Wednesday 8pm-4am. I just really want a vacation right now.

I’m sorry. =( And to think, I am experiencing a gap in work right now so my pay check isn’t going to look good. It is just a weird void where nothing is going on and I’m trying to pick up my hours at my second job (without too much success). I’m just glad I don’t have to work overnight anyway. Yuck!

Missed a good series last night. Finished cleaning all the bunny cages and went out back for a drink and some TV time. Came back to find Pascal head first in his litter tray burrowing (getting ready to perform one of his old party tricks) he finally surfaces wearing the entire contents of his litter tray ( a big ball of local meadow hay) as a sombrero he then proceeded to dash about the play pen in it refusing to let me remove it. So much for a clean rabbitat.

Man I have a headache! The cold alone is so sharp when the wind hits me it’s like instantaneous headache for me lol. So I got a call this afternoon about them switching my schedule around. On thanksgiving I now work 4pm Thursday- 6am Friday. With only a 30 minute break for my 14 hour shift somewhere in between. I’m someone who needs to at least graze every 4 hours or I get shaky so I’ll be stuffing my pockets with crackers and customers best not complain about me eating because I’m missing my thanksgiving lunch so they can come shop lol I spent all of last night climbing up and down a ladder to stow away a lot o Black Friday xboxs. PS3, and wiis. Each box weighed 30-35 pounds at least and I’m so tiny weighing in at 107. I wish they would hire someone to help me so I don’t have to climb up a 12 ft ladder with a bulky heavy box with only one hand, climb down, grab another box. It gets tiring. It would be quicker and more efficient if someone could hand me boxes. I did about 100 rounds of going up and down a darn ladder last night… I’m sore haha. Today I finally have a night off and the buns are a,ready out playing around. I felt bad because I’ve been working so much they’ve hardly had any out time :/

I know last year we didn’t get holiday pay for working thanksgiving night and they got a lot of hell about it so this year we are at least getting holiday pay especially since you have NO CHOICE but to work. If you don’t show up he says don’t ever bothering to show up again. Gotta love toy stores this time of year…

And the carrying boxes up a ladder like that, at that height, you would think a lift would be required… I would look into that if I were you, as I have no idea where you live

Or is this a night stocking thing and the store isn’t open? I’m sorry that they are making you do all those things. Sometimes I’m asked to do things at work that take a lot out of me, so at least I know how that part feels.

Ugh, I hate holidays. Especially the kind where you’re supposed to spend time with family. My family is so messed up, nobody can seem to get along. Apparently my brother was fighting with my mom about me and I never knew it. He was upset about a misunderstanding that occurred between me and his father-in-law. You guys don’t want to know what it was about, some people hear might be sensitive to the subject (hunting). Anyway, my brother tried to tell my mom that the misunderstanding was my fault and that I shouldn’t be so ungrateful. My mom was apparently defending me because she was present for part of the original agreement I had with my brother (through text messages). So now my mom doesn’t want anyone over for Christmas. My brother doesn’t want to talk to me and my sister-in-law hates me even more than she already does (not sure why she hates me, I never did anything to her) since this involved her dad. *sigh*

I don’t really know my brother’s in-laws all that well since I hardly see them. My sister-in-law’s mom seemed like she was pleased to see me. Her dad though, he was a bit rude to me. I don’t believe I said anything in an “inappropriate” manner to him, although I was disappointed over what happened. I guess I was just really geared up about it because it was going to be my way of making things up to some people I work with (yeah, I know, a little context would help, lol). I felt like I was letting them down all over again.

That’s why I was curious. The store I work at for my 2nd job is opening at 8pm Thanksgiving. It has gotten way out of hand.

Sucks though Takes the joy out of the season, having to work int he middle of the night, not seeing any sun.

But you guys please I need desperate advise like ASAP. I hope someone comes on even though it is a thanksgiving holiday. I was at work tonight scheduled for 8pm-4am to prepare for Black Friday. We open at 5pm tomorrow (Thursday) won’t close until Friday 10pm. Anyhoo I’m scheduled to work 4pm-6am tomorrow so I wanted to get out on time tonight so I can rest before a really long shift. Tonight we were understaffed and the ASM physically tried to keep me in the store to finish the add resets. If I had stayed until finished I wouldn’t be out until like 8am. It was impossible for a single person to set those adds in so little time. Not to mention I had to wait to start until the last customer left the store at 11:30pm so I only had a couple hours to do hundreds of adds and bulk stocks. And I was the ONLY ONE doing them. I told her I needed to leave at 4am but I wasn’t finished yet. She said’ “you leave when the adds are done” so I said okay. I stayed another hour and made a small dent in them and I’m exhausted so I convinced myself in my sleep deprived, fed up, mind that legally, I can leave without punishment. Im scheduled until four so I should be able to leave until 4. At 5am I clocked out, got my stuff and went to the manager to tell her that I wasn’t able to finish the adds but i REALLY have to go now. And she got PISSED. When I opened the front door of the store she got in between me and the door and put her hand on the lock to where I couldn’t unlock it and was threatening my job. Said if I walked out now, I’m quitting because I’m abandoning my job. I told her I’m not abandoning my job. I completed my SHIFT. I didn’t complete the work but my shift has been completed and I’m leaving, I’ll see you tomorrow and she kept threatening my job. What do I do?! I’m so nervous. I’m scared. I’m going to go back to work tomorrow as usual and I’m going to the higher ups to report her. I feel as though she stepped out of line. I did what I could for the amount of time I was scheduled for. Please guys, am I officially fired?

We make about 70% of our yearly sales just from October-December. I’m not normally on nights but this year I am because they need trustworthy people to work the electronics department as that’s high crime so they shoved me there. But now I’m afraid I MAY not have a job because of an abusive manager! I would go to my HR for advice but she has a mouth and enjoys juicy gossip

You stated clearly you were not abandoning your job and ultimatums like the ones she was making are very clear examples of intimidation and bullying. If I am correct information on previous posts stated that like us you are required by law to have rest periods between shifts… Do you have an occupational health and safety officer you can speak to about this and lodge a formal complaint ?

They are guidelines that dictate the conditions, entitlements, penalties and minimum pay rates for a specific job. If so can you tell me what state you are in an I will try to access a copy online.

I had a coworker that was with me and stood witness to part of the abuse but the ASM quickly told my coworker that she can leave and that’s when she really continued threatning my job. I KNOW for a fact that my coworker heard the ASM threaten my job. And I KNOW for a fact my coworker witness the ASM get inbetween me and the door. She also witness the ASM harassing me by following me to the front door the entire time, yelling at me about the adds. My coworker was there the entire time except at the last bit where she told her to leave and continued yelling at me about the adds. This was also OFF THE CLOCK. I was clocked out the entire time she was yelling at me. Does this mean it’s uneffective since she was yelling at me while I wasn’t technically at work anymore?

I know she can’t fire me for leaving on my set schedule. we do have minimum pay rates and such but Delaware is a new state to me. I’m very familiar with Texas laws but I’m not too familiar with Delaware laws. But the state of Delaware says they can fire you for no reason at all too so she can fire me basically, just cause. even though I would really know it was because of this incident. If she were going to fire me “for no reason” shouldn’t she have at least not bullied and intimidated me beforehand? Like let me go, when I clock back in, release me from my duties instead of yell at me in front of my co workers and threatening my job in front of my co workers. Isn’t that technically firing me for leaving on time? Idk… I’m really confused and nervous to attend work tomorrow… especailly if I really am fired. Although I don’t think the GM will tolerate her firing me. I’m actually a very vital employee to them and I think he would be upset if she fired me without consulting him first…

If she starts in again remnd her it is a requirement that you have breaks and appropriate rest periods and whilst you are willing to hep out you are not willing to do so at the detriment to your own health or the SAFETY of others. Write out the details of what happened and give it to the HR person, so what if she is a gossip, she still has to do her job and head office can be the ones to put her back in her place if she breaches any confidentiality policies. Then there is the hardline. You could report the woman for deprivation of liberty which is a criminal offence provided she tried to prevent you leaving the premises by force, even mild force such as blocking your path and making threats to your employment.

I knew that this just couldn’t possibly be right. Which was why I had enough nerve to walk past her to get out the door. I was crying and angry. It just couldn’t be right for such thing to occur because I was leaving an hour LATE. It wasn’t even like I was leaving on time, I tried to stay later to do the workload but was unable to complete it. but immediately after I got in my car I had a rush of what ifs? THank you so much. I will write what had happened down, report to my HR tomorrow when we go in for black friday/thursday and see what steps I need to take. If my HR isn’t there, I will go to my General Manager because I’mm so upset about what had happened that I want to address this ASAP. The last time I saw the HR lady was 3 weeks ago. So I might not see her. But I KNOW for sure I’ll be seeing the GM tomorrow. Would it be okay to talk to him about this? Although he is such a sarcastic man. Anytime I have something to say he snoots it off or comes out with a sarcastic reply. I’m hoping he will take me seriously about it…

Type Labor laws, Delaware into the google search bar and you will find the State of Delaware, Dept of Labor and several other links… Some very interesting and helpful info particularly the part where in the case of a wrongful Dismissal claim the onus of proof is entirely upon the employer to show that they acted within the law,,,

Don’t use it like a threat but let him know you have done your research as you felt threatened by this womans behavior. If he is losing staff because of her and is going into the Xmas peak period under manned then someone else may find themselves in the cross hairs.

Often times they will outline what the termination process is. If they fail to follow their own termination process, then that would be considered wrongful termination. This is true even if you live in an at-will employment state, which I believe Delaware is. And, like others said above, if you are legally supposed to get a break after a certain amount of time at work, then that law would take precedence over any policy your employer has.

I’m at work now. Made the complaint to the boss. He apologized profusely nod said I should NEVER feel uncomfortable in the workplace. If I want to leave ON TIME I should e able to without feeling uncomfortable or getting harassed. He said he will handle it when she comes in tonight. He says if it happens anymore (I’ve had problems with leaving before. I’ve been staying 2-3 hour late) to notify him. But she has a write up as of now. They have a three strike you’re out thing. And she is very well known for these things in the past so she needs to be careful. I’m relieved but I will not hesitate to report her if she continues bullying me or any coworkers. If it happens again I won’t hesitate to report her even if it isn’t with me but I see it with other workers. Because it’s just unacceptable behavior. Thanks so much for the advice. I’m glad I didn’t just sit quiet!

She admitted she did nothing wrong so to me she finds this okay. So I’m filing an official report instead of just going to the manager. He said he could handle it and he didn’t do it. Al all.

Sometimes people like the ASM think further intimidation will get them out of the $*&! hole they have already dug for themselves. We have a similar problem here at my work but in this instance the employee is in the wrong (his most recent effort was to threaten and intimidate a 15 yr old junior to the point they quit from fear/The bully’s backside is mine and he will be reaping the rewards of his behavior very soon)

I work alone with her again tonight at 10 where she won’t have the other managers around to keep her in line so idk. It’ll be interesting. I feel as though she almost forgets that the code of ethics still applies to over night too. It’s almost like she doesn’t abide by the rules the way she felt she had a right to block my exiting the store when my shift was done.

I talked to HR after her “apology” and discussed what happened. And she said on Saturday she can email the HR that’s above her for further advice but it has to wait until She has time Saturday. I can maybe talk to the GM once more about the ASM not making a sincere apology and how she still doesn’t know right from wrong because she didn’t and probably wouldn’t admit she was out of line. the words “I’m sorry” never came out of her mouth. She just said “I’m only apologizing IF I was unprofessional” that’s not her owning up to her mistakes. If anything that’s her saying “I’m not apologizing to you, because I wasn’t unprofessional” It makes me feel still uncomfortable to work with her because her apology was basically insincere and I still strongly believe she thinks she did nothing wrong! So I’m still uncomfortable around her. And it’s at the point now that I want to be removed from nights and go back to days. I’d hate to do that but I can’t work with someone who refuses to see the difference from right and wrong and put her pride to the side to admit her wrong doing so we can move forward and not have this tension in the air.

Or should she go ahead and email them? I don’t mind waiting a few shifts and give her a chance. But her apology really upset me that she manipulated the words to not really make it an apology. But she did try hard to be nice to me tonight and asked “are we good.” We shall see tonight when I go back in. Just don’t want this incident to get lost in the dark. But I’ve talked to HR and the GM so they are at least aware. When I talked to HR she made the comment “so this is why we can’t seem to keep over nighters” (were having problems with a lot of over night crew quitting. They show up once and never return) Anyhoo, I’m already feeling better since speaking with HR she seemed to actually listen to me versus when I spoke to the GM.

I find myself being resentful that my husband gets to go and have his thanksgiving and I’m at work. He’s the reason we are across the country and it’s been three years since I have been able kt celebrate my favorite holiday. I miss home and being surrounded by family and friends. I don’t even get to have my thanksgiving on Monday anymore because I’m working. Three years! Argh! My holiday spirit has officially been crushed also, 6 night time crew quit tonight so we only have half the people we need. It’s gonna be a long night! On a bright note the ASM is already treating me better

I’m sorry. Did they ask you to work or demand that you work? I would think you would be entitled to having Monday off since you have worked so hard during this very busy weekend and the week leading up to it. I haven’t been able to enjoy the season, so to speak, for a very long time. That is the price you pay for working retail, unfortunately. Just look at all of Walmart employees who were protesting. Stores have just gone to far with crazy hours. Where I work, I can actually remember when we opened at 6am on Black Friday and that was the norm. Now everyone is opening in the evening on Thanksgiving to get a head start of Black Friday, my store included. I can remember when the store would maybe open an hour early for a big sale before Christmas. Now we open 3 hours early and stay open 2 hours late. It’s ridiculous and all of these changes have occurred over a relatively short period of time.

I am glad that that manager is being more pleasant. Perhaps she knows she needs you, now more than ever, and it would be wise not to piss you off.

I’m thinking I should just try to smooth things over. Yet I’m afraid he will think I’m not being sincere. I mean, I don’t appreciate him making stuff up when talking to my mom about it (trying to make himself look better, I guess). But I did want to thank him for what he did since things did still turn out okay. Not as well as I had hoped, but it wasn’t the end of the world. I just don’t understand why this had to explode and blown clear out of proportion. And the worst part, I wasn’t even there!

I did end up staying 9 hours instead 8 because I had stuff that needed to get done but she didn’t force me. She actually thanked me for staying though when I told her I was headin on out! SHe has never thanked someone for staying late. I think she is realizing that anything after the scheduled time is strictly voluntary. Maybe she’d realize if she thanked us more for going BEYOND our schedule and appreciated it we would be more inclined. Appreciation goes a long way

It will probably go back to 8pm because we just didn’t do well in the beginning. Only made 15k an hour and we normally made 20-25k. I think we are just pushing it too close to mealtime. We still reached our goal but we got hit HARD around 5am Friday. So hopefully I wot be spending my thanksgiving next year at work

I have absolutely no clue who this person is. Now I don’t think it is a fake fab account. Their profile says they live in the same city I do and went to college where I am currently attending grad school. But it says they graduated in 1998! I’m a little weirded out. Do I ask them who they are? Or just ignore them? LOL I mean, it could just be an honest mistake.
