My rabbit started to act strange on Thursday night. She wasn’t excited about pellets and didn’t finish her hay like usual. At first i thought it was gas since she had it before, but then she ran and binky. So i waited until friday morning and see if she finishes her hay, but she didn’t.
I brought her to the vet Friday afternoon because i thought it might be teeth problem (she’s been getting very nippy lately), but the vet said the teeth spurs look very mild so she can’t be sure. She can’t see the very back of the teeth but she said most of the bunny don’t really mind those. She gave meloxicam, cisapride, and simethicone to try out for 3-5 days and see if it helps, otherwise she could do a molar trim.
It is Saturday night now, she barely touched the hay (she has atleast 3 types of hay to choose from) and would only munch on it for like a minute and hop away. She would still eat pellets though, and she still poops normal(from the pellets).
I am not sure how much pellets i should feed her(abt 1/4 cups right now)? On one hand i don’t want her to go into stasis because she isn’t eating hay, but then is the pellet making her full that she doesn’t want to eat hay? I don’t need to supplement critical care if she can still eat pellets?
Otherwise, she is cuddling with me, binkying and flopping like normal.
Anyone have similar experience like this?
