Mako hasn't been eating anything but hay! Well, she did eat a LITTLE of her kale last night, but not a whole lot. She hasn't touched her pellets. She was eating fine at her previous home. Could it just be the stress of a new place?

EDIT: She did just nibble on a piece of veggies so I think it's probably just stress like I thought. She's doing better than my dog at least, who didn't move or eat for three days!

I am no expert by far but I would think that as long as your bun is eating a lot of hay, drinking, and pooping normally then the veggies should come with time. It is good to introduce them slowly anyway and if your bun is stressed it might not feel comfy yet.  Did the previous caretaker say what your bun's favorite treat/veggie was?

If she’s really new to you then it might just be stress. As long as she’s eating lots of hay, pooping, peeing, and all that she should be fine. If it goes on too long you might want to get her checked out by a vet to make sure she doesn’t have any dental issues or anything.

It's not really the veggies I'm worried about now as she's been eating those some, I'm more worried about the pellets. They're the same ones she was eating before.

EDIT: I held some out to her and she nibbled at them. I think I just need to give her time!

It’s the hay that’s most important for a bunny. Sometimes when bunnies has stomach-problems they are put on a hay-only diet for several weeks or even months. So as long as she’s eating hay, drinking water and producing urine and poop like she should, I’d say you don’t have to be worried. Just give her time to get accustomed to you and her new surroundings. It would be a very long time before she’d suffer from malnutrition from just eating hay, if it’s good hay.

You’re actually lucky to have a bunny that seems to enjoy her hay over veggies and pellets, because hay is the road to excellent stomach-health in a bunny =)

So I’ve read! I have a new type of hay due to my allergies and she’s not as keen on that but I think she’ll come around since she’s had hay her whole life and she’s quite used to it. Thanks for the reassurance.

My rabbit wasn’t interested in his pellets the first couple of days home. Now he’s crazy about them just like a dog is about kibble lol just give her time to get used to her new surroundings.
