Hello. My rabbit is 8 months old. He recently has stopping drinking and it’s been a few days. He’s not a big fan of water though and he gets a lot of leafy greens. But now he’s stopped entirely. As well I notice that he doesn’t want to eat his pellets or his leafy greens in high quantity. He has a little hay now and then. He was pooping up until this morning. The only thing he wants to eat is carrots. I’m taking him to the vet this afternoon as he’s not hunched over or anything. He’s very active. What else can I do?

It’s good that you’re taking him to the vet. The vet can x-ray his gut to see so there isn’t a blockage in the intestines, then give him proper meds so his gut starts up again. They will probably give him fluids subcutaneously.

Until then, make sure he keeps warm. Rabbits can become cold “from the inside” when they are poorly. If he accepts sitting in your lap with a light blanket on him, that’s often a good way to warm a bun up without risking overheating.

Some times a very light tummy massage can be beneficial. Here is a good video with how to perform one: https://www.howcast.com/videos/514701-how-to-help-a-rabbit-with-gas-pain-pet-rabbits/
