  I’m hoping that someone could maybe shed some light on how to get my bunny to start eating her pellets again after getting spayed. She was spayed 3 days ago, and is recovering quite quickly. She’s as energetic as ever and desperately wants to go run around, but I think I’m going to hold off on that for a few more days just to be safe. However, she has zero interest in her pellets. I know pellets should be the smallest portion of her diet, and I only ever give her about a third a cup a day, but she hasn’t touched them since her surgery. She also isn’t eating as much hay as I would like her to, but she is loving her lettuce, cilantro, and basil, and is also drinking lots of water. I guess I’m just constantly worried that she is going to get stasis or something, being the paranoid bunny lover that I am. I tried pouring a little warm water over her pellets to soften them up, but she wanted none of that. Any help/advice would be much appreciated! Thanks!

  That is pretty normal for the pellets to be the last thing they will want to eat. It’s good she is eating the greens though.

  I feel like if she is eating something and going to the restroom then you should be okay. Maybe continue to monitor for now?

  Not eating pellets should not cause stasis. Pellets are the usually the last thing bunnies start eating after a spay. As long as she is eating hay and greens, she will be fine, and should probably start eating pellets soon.
