As some may or may not know, my rabbit Briar recently passed. She had been living side-by-side to my other rabbit, Oliver, but they were by no means bonded. They had had several bonding sessions and while there was progress, it was definitely slow going and I was looking at probably several more weeks/months until they were capable of living together.
Ever since she died, Oliver isn’t eating his vegetables. He used to be perfect, ate the entire bowl each night besides maybe the odd leaf or two. Now he may eat half, or a light nibble and very rarely will he eat the whole thing. He’s still eating his hay and his pellets, his poo looks great and he’s still got a lot of energy, but he’s definitely a bit more surly.
Would he be mourning the loss of Briar? I know she took it hard for quite a while after Quinn left, but they had been bonded together for years. Oliver had only met her a handful of times without bars and it wasn’t exactly a civil meeting each time (she had a fun-filled habit of ripping a tuft of fur off of him when he got too close too quickly).
