My name is Alisha, I have been an animal love my whole life. I have raised cocktails (birds), guinea pigs, dogs, and cats. Now I have added a rabbit to my family.
At this moment this is what my furry family consists of:
Reginald aka Reggie aka Old Man.
He is a 14 year old, 25 lb mini schnauzer that I rescued about 7 years ago. He doesn’t bark, loves cats (though they don’t always love him back) and his favorite thing is bacon treats and have g his beard scratched.Owen aka Bagheera aka BooBoo Kitty
He is an 11 year old, 15 lb black short hair cat. I adopted him from the humane society as a kitten. He knows how to open any kind of unlocked door (except sliders). He is the most passive cat I know. Has never messed with any small animal that has been brought into the home. Even though he is an avid hunter outside. He even avoids confrontation with other cats. He loves curling up on a lap or chest and drools when he is happy. He secretly cuddles Reggie and plays with the dog toys when he thinks no one is looking.And the newest member… Drumroll please!
RHOSGOBEL! aka Rosco aka Bunnerskates
He is a 12 week old flemish giant. I adopted him two weeks ago from a sweet girl who thought she had two males… Until they matured and she ended up with bunny babies. She wasn’t asking for much, just a good home for the babies. I gave her some money for rabbit food or to put towards getting them fixed. Her face lit up almost as bright as mine when my Rosco hopped right up to me and wanted to be held.
Right now he weighs 4lbs. But looks like he is growing fast. He has a bunny pen/area in our dining room. Where he can go and feel safe. It is about 5 ft x 3ft He is very good about using his box most of the time. He gets supervised out of pen time for at least a couple hours each day. He has met both Reggie and BooBoo, he is indifferent about the dog, but very very interested in the cat. Mostly BooBoo tries to avoid him while still maintaining ownership of his rug by the back door.My boyfriend lives with me and my 3 fluffy babies. He loves them all! After having the bunny for only 4 days he was walking up to the door of the pen for both of us. If we are in the room and he sees us he wants to be out with us. After having him for a week he likes to sit on the couch next to my boyfriend or climb up on my chair and sit on my shoulder while we watch game of thrones.
I am excited to be a part of this online community! I have discovered there are not many literary or local resources to help me get the right information for my soon to be huge baby.
