I adopted a young lion head rabbit today from a family in a neighboring town. He was a gift to one of the family’s kids, and she lost interest in him after a while (figures.) Anyway, when my roommate and I got him home, we realized that something had been tied around his neck that was really tight, it must have been on there for weeks and he was growing bigger than it. His teeth are slightly overgrown from malnutrition/not having any chewing toys. We got the ribbon off and thats when we noticed the tooth problem, which may also have been caused by trying to chew the ribbon off, and that had caused little cuts on his cheeks that were bloody too. He doesn’t seem to be in much pain or in extreme need of immediate, he’s running around and eating ok (though eating is proving to be difficult because he can’t close his mouth all the way). The vet isn’t open on the weekend, and I was wondering what I could do for him in the next couple of days before I can take him in to help him out, make him more comfortable, etc. Thanks!
