New but new to bunny!

 Hi!

I is new. Leyley recommended forum to me. I had Kai, a loving mini lop who pass away at age five in November. Then I adopt Boof, sadly first day I own Boof he die of myxo. 🙁 Now I am getting Poppy on 11/07/10. Poppy is accidental litter in rescue and I chose her to be my new bun!

I live in Australia, but I was born in Russia. I move here two year ago. We also has a cat (Walt) and a doggy (Terry.)

 

Poppy is brown (chocolate?) lop ear bun. I is very happy to be here, lovely forum!

 

When I grow up I hope to be behavioural neuroscientist and when retire run animal rescue.

Welcome to the forums! Is that Poppy in the picture? So tiny! It looks like a little dwarf breed. I’m sorry to hear about your other rabbits. It’s always a worry here in Australia with myxo unfortunately. We’d love to see pictures of Poppy when she arrives. And your cat & dog too!

I has question about forum rule. Poppy is from doe in rescue, she was pregnant when she saved. Does this count as breeding? Also, is my posting okay? I try my best English not first language. And thirdly, how I make signature?

No, this is fine. Thanks for taking in one of the bunnies. It certainly helps! The rule about breeding is that members should not post about deliberately breeding their rabbits. This community supports rabbit rescue and promotes that people spay/neuter their rabbits and not breed them. 

And thirdly, how I make signature?

i’ll check back on this. I have to check myself to remember how to do it!   Edit: Ok, when you are next logged on, click on “My Forum Settings” in the light green bar above the forum header. Then click on the Edit button.  There is a box where you can type in your signature. If you wish to put a picture, paste the html code for the image in this box also. I think the image file size can be no bigger than 300 kb. If you have any troubles with picture, one of the forum leaders might be able to add it for you.

This is the only way I know how to do the signature. If anyone knows of another way – please tell me!  

Also, is my posting okay?

For your signature you have to host your photos on a site and use the html format and post it under “my forum settings”

I use http://www.photobucket.com to host my pictures, I know there are other sites too

Oh… so I misread that then?  She won’t be ready to come home by July 11th, will she?

She’s 3wks now so she’ll be just 8 weeks old. PrincessCharming, will the rescue assist you in getting your rabbit fixed when she is the right age? Many rescues do this before they adopt rabbits out. It would be great if you can get some sort of voucher through them. I know my clinic offers a discount on the procedure if you adopt from the local rescue.

We get a fifty percent discount voucher to desex because we adopt bunny, so Poppy will be desexed when she’s about four months. (Which is what the vet recommends.) We is going on bit of hike to get her desex, but I not send her to anyone but the most knowledgeable bunny vet!
