Hi guys, i havent been on here for over a year now since i lost my lovely boy Biscuit. But now, i am back, and getting a new bun tomorrow!!!! RIDICULOUSLY excited, i’ll upload a photo of him! He is a 1 year old lion head, the family cant cope with his fur anymore so are giving him away. I couldnt resist, he just needs someone to love him!!!

So what do you guys think? Happy to be back on the forum, couldnt bear to have a look around since Biscuit died, but now i will have a new little fella this time tomorrow!!

He’s cute – are you sure he’s not an angora? Long hair rabbits definitely can be a challenge and they aren’t for everyone. I know we have lots of members with long hair rabbits that can give you grooming tips – I love the long hair rabbits, but I never was up to the grooming challenge.

They said he was a lionhead, but i will find out once i have him and can feel his fur and see properly I have 2 persian cats, so i’ll be up to the challenge

Oh, you definitely will be up for the challenge then!

He just looks furry all over to me which makes me think of angora rather than lionhead – I love his fur color too.

Yes indeed! He was bought for his family’s children, so perhaps they dont know a lot about him? Either way, he is just beautiful and i love him already!!! I’m very excited, think i’m going to keep him in an X pen, with a pet carrier for when i need to move him

He is beautiful! He will be so lucky to have you and have someone who understands his hairy needs. =p =]

Thankyou! I think he is stunning Haha yes, i most certainly understand these furry creatures! The questions i have are all because i’m so out of practice, having been out of bunny keeping for a year! Veg i can give him are carrots, brocolli, radishes, apples … anything else that is common and fairly cheap ish? He is a year old, so timothy hay? My old bun would not eat hay, so i am DETERMINED to get this one eating loads!!!!!!!

he’s beautiful, congrats!!! If your used to persians, the buns are a piece of cake to groom!! my ragdoll cat takes at least 30 min. to groom!! my lionhead boys only take 5 minutes every 3 days!

Hi again! It’s great you’re getting a new rabbit in your life.
Looking forward to hearing more about him.

I’m going to throw in suggestion he might be a lionlop even.
You being in the UK, I think lionheads there are recognized breed. Also larger??? Do you happen to know the standard size of the lionheads there?

Thanks for all the replies! I’ll look into those different breeds and post a few more clearer pics once I’ve given him a brush – maybe we’ll be able to see his face lol! I haven’t met him yet, but will be going to collect him tonight around 6pm, so exited!!!! The little fella doesn’t have a name – help with ideas please?? x

When you meet him a name might come to you.
Will be good to see more pictures. We always want more. Lol

Good luck! I hope his transition to new home with you goes smoothly.

                                  I do have a few name suggestion…

Cookie (as an acknowledgement of Biscuit)
Chai- because he reminds me of the colour of Chai
                                  Or Mocha or Nutmeg.
And finally, McFloofer- for obvious reasons. :p

Cookie would be cute I like Nutmeg, but that was the name of our beautiful grey persian who we sadly lost last year, i’ll upload a photo of her – she was gorgeous!! Thanks for the suggestions, i’ll have to have a brain storm Would it be wrong to call a bunny Pooky, after Garfield the Cat’s bear? lol

Looking at lion lops as you suggested Jerseygirl – he doesnt look far off!! Hopefully we’ll have more of an idea once i’ve brushed him and we can see his features better and what his fur is like

Names are such a personal thing. I don’t think any could be thought of as wrong really.

I think I remember you posting about her. You’d also had her a long time? Like Biscuit?

I thought rabbits were best at doing the “disapproving look” but seeing her, I may have to rethink that!
