Hello! My name is Nicole and I received a bunny about 3 weeks ago. I had a few questions about her and about bunny care.

        (photo of my bunny)

Based on the above photo, can anyone tell me what breed she is? I was guessing a blue dutch rabbit but she has much less white fur than the ones I saw online..

My vet told me in early June that she was about 2 months, so I have been feeding her Alfalfa hay and wanted to know when I start transitioning her to Timothy hay? I have also been feeding her parsley, cilantro, and broccoli often. How often should bunnies eat greens and which type are good for them? Should they eat rabbit pellets? If so, which brand and how often?

I switched her bedding from Pine shavings to CareFresh because of liver disease risks… should I stick with CareFresh bedding? What bedding do you use?

Binky is the most playful bunny! She loves to run around and she loves to cuddle with anyone and just relax..

Thank you all so much for your help! I hope to learn a lot from this site and you guys

I am horrible with breeds, but she is adorable!
Most people start the transition at around 6 months, but you can offer her some Timothy hay now in addition to the alfalfa. The best vegetables for bunnies are leafy greens, lettuce, etc. Here is a link to a safe vegetables list: http://rabbit.org/suggested-vegetables-and-fruits-for-a-rabbit-diet/
It is recommended to give a small amount of pellets (1/8-1/4 cup per day). Around here, we recommend oxbow, any of the rabbit foods they have are fine, they also have baby bunny food and adult food.
Carefresh is fine, but it is recommended to only use bedding in the litter box, and leave the rest of the floor alone. It is less confusing for them to learn litter training that way. I use wood stove pellets, or pine pellets (pine PELLETS are fine)
Welcome to the site! I look forward to meeting you and Binky, and seeing pictures!

Very cute bunny! Looks like a dutch rabbit or mix with dutch. The pet ones dont always have the perfect amount of white for show.

I have reAd around six months for hay switch but you arent hurting her by giving her timothy. My rabbits (i have had two) at separate times preferred pellets to loose hay but that is supposed to be odd. They both had healthy lives and lived to he nine. I had dwarves so their amounts of food will be less. I just gave small amounts of leafy greens or fruit. That website link was very good.

She looks like a bunny I lost, Paddington.
              He was beautiful too.
He was a french lop but I believe his markings were called Vienna markings.

              Welcome to the forum!
