Hello! I am so happy to have found this forum! I have already gleaned a ton of knowledge from just reading post and look forward to being an active part of this community.
Rabbit name: Bibble (as in “adorabibble”)
Rabbit Age: 2 months, his birthday is June 27th
How long has your bunny been with you? 18 days
Spayed/Neutered? Not yet, but I am planning on it.
Bibble is extremely well behaved and sweet. I got him when he was just 6weeks old. (I didn’t know he was that young until I went to pick him up. Then I had to kind of “rescue” him from the family he was with. They were treating him like he was a full grown bunny and even feeding him fresh veggies and adult pellets only! To top it off, he had the start of an infection that they blew off! He is on meds now and back on baby bunny food. *Sorry for the rant!) Bibble is extremely curious and loves exploring new places, as long as it is under his terms. ? And he is not very timid, which was a worry considering his beginning. He loves being petted, and has taken to climbing up into my lap just to nudge my hand for pets. (It makes me feel VERY special!) He also seems to think he is too cool to care about some things. Like when I go to vacuum out his condo he makes a point of moving when I can see him, doing a binky to get my attention and then flopping down and sprawling out onto his belly just to prove that the vacuum doesn’t scare him.
Are you new to rabbits or have you been a bunny slave for a long while now?
Technically, this is not my first rabbit. Years ago, as in before Internet was a household item (I know, I’m dating myself here) I had a wonderful bun named Snuffles. I loved him terribly, but know now that I was a horrible bunny mommy back then. I didn’t know any better then to feed him handfuls of pellets and keep him in a tiny cage. I really hope he looks down on me from bunny heaven (he was 7years old when he passed) and forgives me. I took me a long time, but I finally couldn’t take it any longer and had to have another cute little fuzz ball of joy, but this time I really did my research! I have made him a condo (I have a bad arm and any type of physical activity with it hurt, so this truly was a real labor of love), checked and rechecked to make sure I was feeding him properly, and got him in to see exotic pet vet that came highly recommended by other bun families before I had had him for week. (That is how I knew he had an infection when I got him. I told the doctor about his symptoms when I first picked him up and she told me that he had it before I got him. The family that had him before weren’t worried about his eye discharge. I was so worried that I had hurt my baby bunny the day I got him home!) I am determined to be a much better bunny mommy this time!
