Hi all! My name is Gabi and I just adopted a Polish rabbit named Peanut! She is my first bunny and I am very excited to have her. I joined this forum so I could meet other bunny lovers and learn more about my new friend. Peanut is 2 years old and is an intact female. I am currently considering getting her spayed. Mostly, I am waiting for my tax return lol!  I have had Peanut for 4 days now. She is warming up quickly and already has run of the house. She is very much a queen bee! Anyway, here are some pictures of my Peanut Bunny.

          OMG, she is so cute!!!!!!

Yes, please do spay her It will make her live a long time, and will take away the chances of her getting reproductive cancers. Have you looked into a rabbit savvy vet that can do the procdure?

She is pretty cute I have called around and found one vet near me who has been seeing rabbits for 27 years. I asked them a lot of the questions I found on the house rabbit society website and they gave me all the right answers. She has a wellness exam coming up and I will talk to the vet more about the procedure. I am somewhat nervous because I heard it can be a bit more tricky once a rabbit is over the age of two, but I’d love for her to live a long healthy life.

              Welcome to Binkybunny!

Yes please get her spayed, I would talk to your vet and ask him/her if they are comfortable spaying her at this age. I am sure they will if they have been seeing rabbits for 27 years.

She is very pretty. My bunny Gabby is a little over a year old and I’m fixing to have her spayed. I’m worried if not she will have health problems later in life and I’m hoping it will help litter box habits.

Spaying does help, incredibly. I had urine stains on the carpet for a bit.. from a hormonal Chacha bun. It stopped after her spay. I’m glad the spay was done. It is very worth it : )

What a cutie! I see in your photo the S-shaped cat scratcher toy thingy; does Peanut play with it? I saw one at the store and wondered if my siesta-loving Senor Scooter Beans might like playing with it. TIA.

Thanks all for the warm welcome! I like your bunny’s name brittbritt Knabbel, she likes to go through the little tunnel and she really enjoys scent marking it. She also likes to dig and chew on it, which I don’t mind. Saves my carpet! (kinda)

Awww, she’s beautiful! A word of advice though – for her safety and your peace of mind, make sure you have those TV cables behind her cage hidden! You won’t believe how much I’ve had to pay in replaced cables, not to mention the danger of electrocution…

                        Welcome to the forums!

I wouldn’t worry too much about her age and spaying. The humane society here, and my vet, do spays on older buns just fine, its after age 6 or so that it becomes more dangerous for bunny, and that’s rare too if the vet is a good one

Congrats on becoming a bunny slave, and welcome to the forums

                            Very pretty! Welcome.

I think my heart skipped a beat when I saw all of those exposed wires. Please, please, please, either COVER them, or block off that corner of the room. A bunny might ignore them 99 days in a row, but all it takes is that 100th day for the bun to get badly hurt… or the electronics to suffer a lot of damage.
