        [caption id="attachment_1928315" align="alignnone" width="225"] Fonzie – I need some advice on this one[/caption]

First time having a rabbit, he is a nightmare he likes a stroke but just usually runs riot hes in our front room and will not leave this room at the moment our bed has to be in our front room ans recently snipped he uses his litter tray but only directly next to our bed I change every day and have used multiple products to cover the smell which do not work so we sleep on the sofa. We have to keep him In a large cage due to the damage he causes everywhere in the room I have tried everything. He hates being in his cage so do I but I have no choice. He is happy he binkies every day all the time. I am struggling to keep looking after him and loosing my patience he is 6 months old only. He loves my cat my cat hates him but fonzie will chase him and want to be with him. He is very hard work and we are talking about giving him up to someone who has the space for him and a safe garden where he can run and be happier. I am so unsure on what to do,

Sorry you are having trouble with him. Has he been neutered yet? If so, how long ago?

Can you describe his set up a bit more?  What do you use in your litter tray? I’m not sure why it would smell if you are changing it daily. I use pine pellets and I cannot smell the litter box, even after 2 days of use.  If he is in a cage, you might consider getting an x-pen to give him a “front yard” area that is completely bunny proofed so he can have more space even when he isn’t supervised.

There are some tips for bunny-proofing here: https://binkybunny.com/infocategory/bunny-proofing/

What type of toys do you provide him? Young bunnies need a lot of things to chew on to redirect them from chewing things they are not supposed to. Cardboard boxes stuffed with paper, phone books, cardboard cat scratchers, etc are all cheap and can work wonders. Ceramic tiles can protect carpet from digging.

I agree with Dana 100%. It sounds like your bunny needs to be fixed if he isn’t already. Definitely get an x pen so he can still have a good amount of space without you worrying about him destroying anything. It also sounds like you need to bunny proof. What I do is wrap heavy duty clear shipping on everything destroyable like furniture legs and baseboards. This cuts down on damage and doesn’t look ugly or bulky so is a great option. I use an enclosed cat litter box and that controls smell really well. When I had first gotten my bunny, I kept the top off and it was very smelly although I changed the litter often. Later when I put the top on, the smell completely vanished. This is the one I have: https://www.amazon.com/Van-Ness-Control-Large-Enclosed/dp/B0002ASCGC/ref=mp_s_a_1_41?dchild=1&keywords=cat%2Blitter%2Bbox%2Bwith%2Blid&qid=1591129444&sprefix=cat%2Blitter&sr=8-41&th=1&psc=1
This one is a perfect size for buns, it’s not super large like most cat litter boxes. Also, I read somewhere that pee smells more before they are fixed so that also could be the problem (if that statement is true). Please try and give this bunny another chance because I’m sure he will win your heart. I hope it gets easier!
