  Hi, we’ve found the 3rd and final addition to our rabbit family. He’s a 3 year old holland lop named whitaker. He came with a huge cage a bunch of litter boxes toys food and a Huge X-Pen. I Got him for free it was well worth the 3 hour drive. He gets along good with the two girls. Luckily he’s neutered already. I also got about 3 books on rabbits. Here are a couple pics of whitaker (he looks kinda evil in them)

  Aww, he’s a cute little butterball! Sounds like a good deal on your part too! I’m glad that it sounds like his previous owners wanted to give him a good life, too!

  So far all the bunnies have been great together. We’ve discovered that our cats dont mind them. Actually the bunnies are more interested in the cats.
  Even though Whitaker is neutered he still tries to mount the females. He even mounted our Siamese cat (Sumo). Is this a show of dominance? I ask that because
  for some odd reason one of our females tried to mount whitaker, and yes I’m now positive that they are both females.

  Yes, in bunny-speak, mounting is a way to show dominance. Our little 2 pound dwarf girl tries to mount her larger male friend all the time. He puts up with it, but when she tries to mount the third girl in the trio, she gets a nip to drive her away. Bunny behavior can be fascinating to watch.

  Yes, bunnies will mount during bonding usually to establish who is in charge. Also, one of my boys in a bonded pair mounts his girlfriend Juli whenever there is another boy bunny around, as if he’s Tarzan or something saying “SHE,MINE” ! Usually this behavior will diminish with a bonded pair after the initial bonding if the boy is neutered. Thats why it is so tough to bond an unneutered male because he will continuously mount the female, and usually the female gets very tired of this and will either bite the boy or start a fight with him.
