        Hi every bun!!

So my buns have bonded, they do great when in any room expect my room. One of rabbits, pascal, use to free roam in my room then I got Bambi (male). Bonding went pretty well, They do great when together in any room in my house expect my room -.- . They groom each other, flop next together and sleep together! But I let them in my room they start to fight. I dont know how I take away the marking my first bun did. I read that people use white vinegar mixed with water to clean cages and play pens but will it work in a entire room?

I’m afraid you can’t call them bonded if they fight when they go into a different room. Could you clarify a bit more about your bonding process?

White vinegar and water can be used for cleaning, soft furnishings should be washed if possible, and furniture should be rearranged so that the room looks different too.

Yep, I agree with S&L above – I think Pascal still see’s that room as his territory and all of suggestions above all sound great – especially re-arranging the furniture and things in the room so that it looks like a whole new space.
How long had you been doing bonding “dates” before you considered them bonding in the other areas of the house? What was your process?
Sirius&Luna is SUPER knowledgeable in this area, so if you can give some more info she would be a great resource to help you!

For a couple of months I had Bambi in a playpen in my room so they would see each other and smell each other. I would switch toys and litter boxes and I even had Bambi free in my room while pascal was in the playpen. I did this for a while because Bambi was not fixed.

Once fixed I waited one month before starting any stress bonding just to be sure Bambi was completely healed.
I did bathtub bonding everyday for 15mins for the 1st couple of days with some cuddles.
Every couple of days I did increase the time. Everything was going great! They groomed each other, shared treats and even just flopped right next to each other. So I moved to the next step.

Next I Moved them to a playpen in a neutral space for 30 mins and did this for a about a week and again it was great.
This is when I decide to try a big playpen in a neutral space and did 2 hours every couple of days. This also went great.

It wasn’t until I wanted to try a playpen in my room that broke into a fight.

But I will try the tips you gave me! Because of the fight I decided to back to step one.. the bath rub

BTW SO SORRY ABOUT RESPONDING LATE, BEEN SUPER BUSY WITH MY BUNS!

It sounds like you have the steps all correct, so hopefully with the room neutralized you’ll have a smoother process.

I would also really really recommend swapping them between hutches every day while you’re bonding them. It’s a really useful way of getting them used to the smell of the other bun, and also getting rid of ideas about what is ‘their territory’.

Let us know how it goes!
