Neuter costs

Hi everyone!

I am new here and to bunny ownership.  I’ve had my rabbits about 3 months.  It is time to get them neutered.  I want to find the right vet and I am curious about the costs at the same time.  I’ve done all the research, I know the average, I know it’s based on your locale, etc. etc. etc.  I am also going to visit more than one vet.  I’m not taking any chances!

I am just very curious to know what others have paid for their males to be neutered.  If that question is rude or not allowed, so sorry!  I am well versed in cats and dogs but not bunnies.  YET!!

in Canada, Ontario it is about 250$-300 on average for a neuter and that includes the day be spent at the vet so one day lodging, and recovery meds.

Time dropped off – 8AM
Time picked up – 3PM (same day)

I believe it was around £70 in total for Peanut’s neuter. That included the pain relief jab and a gut stimulant. I didn’t have to buy oral pain relief as I had some left over from Buttercup’s spay the week before

Wick has it pretty spot on! Luckily for me though, I have a local rabbit rescue that issues a voucher for a “free” spay/neuter at the vets that do their procedures in exchange for a $65 donation. So it’s not technically free, but $65 is a hell of a price compared to nearly $300! And my money goes to the rescue for the buns

I’m really, really glad that I chose to go through Friends of Rabbits. They neuter/spay all the bunnies in their care as standard procedure once they’re old enough; the adoption fee basically helps cover the cost of the operation plus other veterinary care. From where I stand, having neutering and spaying already taken care of as well as housetraining and (where appropriate) bonding is one of the best practical reasons to adopt from a rabbit rescue.

I paid about 240$usd per bun, I think. The cost covered the presurgery blood work, fluids, anesthesia, the surgery, pain killers, antibiotics if needed, and the check up two weeks after surgery

Drop off was about an hour before they opened, so animals going in for surgery could be situated before the vet clinic got full and loud. Pick up time was early/mid afternoon the same day

So had Sprocket’s neuter today. It was just over $300.

My dad is best friends with a veterinarian that is going to spay my girl, my dad and him made a deal of only 45 dollars!! Lucky enough
