Need some serious advice

So, anyone who has read my posts in the last few weeks knows my situation. My girlfriend and I have 3 young, intact rabbits living in one bedroom. We love them all so much, but we think Clarice needs a new home. Our other two, Luna and princess, are maturing, are very territorial, and are becoming not so nice bunnies like they once were. They liked each other, strange as it is for intact girls. Now they don’t, and all letterbox habits are gone. It’s just hard parting with clarice as we love her so much. They all currently live at my girlfriends house, and I’m unable to take her home. I am trying to see if I can take her to school with me and keep her in my room, but I would need a doctors note that basically said I’m depressed and she helps for them to buy it.

For anyone who has not read my posts, we are dedicated bunny parents. They get everything they need and have more than enough time exercising and bonding with us. We will always do what’s best for them no matter what and always have. I just need some advice on this, as they are really having inter-bunny issues.

Inter-bunny issues are normal for intact females especially. Bonding all three is definitely possible once all three are spayed and hormones die down. You can see with the original girls what effect hormones have — they aren’t going to suddenly like each other with raging hormones, and Clarice is only a small piece of that. Have you considered having all three spayed at the same time, letting them heal and hormones calm down, then start bonding all three? If money is an issue while you’re still in school, you could get a CareCredit credit card with super low payments and pay it off with no interest once you start your job (I can’t imagine you wouldn’t be approved in your field and with your job already confirmed). If you do end up rehoming Clarice, it will be much easier once she is spayed.

Intact bunnies get along when they’re babies because babies generally like everybody. The issues you’re describing sound like normal intact/hormonal bunnies to me. I think it would be possible for them to be bonded once they’re spayed. You could try contacting rescues in your area to see if they know of any low cost spay programs/options in your area.

Agreed-try to hold out/manage them until you can get them fixed. About a month later you can start fresh with some bonding exercises. Check out the bonding forum for stories and tips
