Here are some pics of my kittens- Melody, silver tabby and Mason, grey tabby. They are littermates that we adopted at the end of May. I lost a beautiful silver tabby male Moonshine to cancer in Feb- and I wanted another silver tabby. And I thought my cat Oreo only had at most a year to live due to kidney disease- so we decided to adopt 2 littermates.
I took Oreo to the vet about 2 weeks ago for a urinary tract infection- she was dribbling urine on my bed. I decided to take her to a DIFFERENT vet other than the one that I worked at for 8 years. They checked her urine and she had an infection- started on AB’s. They also checked her kidney values and compared them to the ones in her history- her kidney values were better than they were last year. In fact the vet does not consider her to have kidney disease- and did not even consider previous bloodwork to be indicative of kidney disease. So my previous ultra careful vet diagnosed her with kidney disease which caused me much stress, tears and guilt. But she is fine- Thank Goodness. Goes to show that a second opinion can be invaluable. It was the best news ever- and money just can’t buy that peace of mind and true happiness of knowing that Oreo will be around for years more. Of course now I have TWO kittens- but neither are going anywhere!
Oreo and the kittens-

Melody jumped into a bowl that I got out to mix parrot food in- pellets, seeds, fruit, etc. My husband spun her in the bowl and she still did not get out- ske kinda like the ride I think.
Meoldy’s left eye is still a little squinty- but her eye is still healing (and being treated) for a large corneal ulcer- when I adopted her that eye was stitched closed for 3 weeks for healing.
